What are people's experience with the Lightning's tire life. I have 16,000 miles on mine and they are looking quite worn. I may be able to get through the New England winter, but I do not think they will make 25,000 miles. I am careful with the psi and do not pull any heavy weight other than the truck itself.

I have the OEM Hankooks with just over 30,000km (18,600mi) and they look brand new. I do run them at 45psi though, the recommended pressure seemed way too low for a truck this heavy. Gave me flashbacks to when Explorers would have blowouts from underpressurized Firestone tires. I don't plan on swapping my tires until at least 100,000km as I do run dedicated winter tires as well.

I’ve got about 12k on mine and they look fairly close to new, if you are launching the truck every chance you get well…. :)

I have over 26k on my stock tires, they still have sufficient tread, I'm likely to replace them by the end of summer 2026.

54000kms on the grabbers and they were about due. Still had some tread but got a puncture so replaced them.

I had to replace my OEM tires a little before 30k miles. They were very worn around the outside edges and I’m not really a “spirited” driver. But others have experienced the same thing with the OEM tires.

I have 18,000 on the original Grabbers and have a new set sitting in my shop waiting for winter to arrive before replacing. They are still in usable (safe) condition but will need replacing before 20,000.

I have 23,000mi/37,000km on the stock Goodyear Wrangler HT's - I bought a set of Bridgestone Blizzak's on their own rims for this winter (Dec-April) then I will put the stock tires back on next spring, tread depth is fine for another spring-summer-fall season.

I feel like temperatures have a big impact on tire wear, hotter weather more wear.
I run the OEM recommended tire pressure.

What winter tire did you go with?

I had 24,000 miles on my stock Goodyears, at 4/32 tread left, so I changed them out for the Michelin defenders. Rolling into winter, otherwise I could have waited a couple more months. Stock tires have never lasted on any vehicle I've owned....

With only 23,000 miles on the odometer, my OEM tires were already bald. I changed them last weekend, opting for a set of Cosmo EL Tigre AT All-Terrain tires (275/60R20). As an off-brand, I'm keeping my expectations in check, but the tread depth is promising for snow. The road noise is noticeable, as expected. Now, it's a waiting game to see how they perform.

I went with Michelin X-ice as I've only run them on my past vehicles. Planning on throwing them on mid November.
I picked the Blizzaks and although these use a soft rubber compound we have cold winter weather in NW Ontario.
We've had good results with these tires on SUV's in the past, but the Lighting is a lot heavier. The Blizzk tires are load rated 115R (2679lbs per tire) seems similar to the stock OEM tire ratings.

Guess I will find out by April.
If we all post our tire spec, winter mileage and depth of tread loss, maybe we can compare different winter tire options between us, see what lasts and what doesn't.
