Did Ford cut engineering (versus manufacturing) resources for the F150 Lightning?

From this latest video it seems the weak link in the chain is ford EVSE wall unit.
The weak link is most certainly this unit - although it's not made by Ford. It's made by Siemens. :(

BUT there might be hope: I was at the Bolt EV launch event in LA a few weeks back and spoke to one of the team from GM Energy - Their unit (as I commented and they smiled) seems to use the same Delta inverter and dark start battery after the charger, which makes me think this is a solvable problem... given enough willpower and engineering time!

I'm surprised the bean counters at Ford haven't told the executives "either fix it, or buy them back, because a lawsuit is the most expensive option."
Talk of any lawsuit seems to have totaled been silenced. Without any inside knowledge, I’ld wager that Ford has contacted the disgruntled users and bought them off.

One day this thread was hot as a firecracker and the next day it was over.

Just a SWAG on my part.

Thanks, I didn't think of that.
If it was settled, there would be a NDA involved so we'll never know.

Home Integration System The Fix Is Here (for my system anyway)
Back story first: I do not drive my Lightning frequently so my 12v battery voltage is often too low to install the OTA software updates. I called Ford Service at my servicing dealer and asked for them to check for updates that have not yet loaded on my lightning. I did see a week ago someone posted about ECG2-25.2.8.5 was recently released. Ford Mobile Service came to my home on 11/10/25. The tech installs jumper cables from the service vehicle to my truck to increase the 12v battery voltage. The tech installed 3 updates that did update many of my truck systems on 11/10.
I left the power cord plugged in overnight and tested the system the next morning. On this test when I cut the power to the house my truck LED ring at charge port turned green but my inverter had faults and the Ford pro charger lit amber on the right side (most likely from the inverter faults)
I rebooted the inverter and the charger at this point.
I let the charge cord in the truck overnight and tested the next day. The truck had the charge cord attached for about 20 hours so the truck was in a deep sleep mode. This time I got the M Pro app and connected to my inverter to try to see active faults. I cut the power to the house and in approximately 1:10 the power transferred with no faults.
I repeated the test with the charge cord attached overnight, the truck in a deep sleep mode 3 subsequent times over 3 separate days and each time the power has transferred from truck to house.
So it seems in my case that the software updates installed by Ford Mobile Service on 11/10/25 have fixed my Home Integration issues. It has been about 14 months since my system has worked as is should. It has been a long wait with many promises that the fix is coming but as of now, I am happy to report that my fix appears to have arrived.

Would be great if you could find out what updates were installed and let us know. Congrats on finally getting your system to work as it should!

I knew others would ask, so I asked the tech which updates he performed but all he was able to provide were 3 pages of systems showing they were updated. I have a strong suspicion that ECG2-25.2.8.5 might have been the most pertinent update but he did install 2 others as well.

Ford let me down again. My Home Integration System worked for 3 tests only. Shortly afterward, we had a power failure and the system didn't work. I had to use the charge cord trick for power transfer.
The very next day, I tested the system again. System was inoperative. Fault errors at the inverter and the Ford Pro charger. What an extreme disappointment. What other company could get away with selling you an expensive product that does not work as advertised with absolutely zero customer service or resolution.

I know how you feel. I had my Ford Home Integration System professionally installed in October 2023. I was so excited. I was there when my electrician tried it out for the first time and it worked perfectly. A month later when the first outage occurred it failed. I was disappointed but figured that Ford would be right on it. After all, (I thought), they had committed a very large advertsiing budget for advertising and there was no way that they would do anything other than do whatever it takes to make this product a big success. Well, I was wrong. Like many of us, I spent countless hours on the phone to the BEV Group and anyone else at Ford that I thought would help. I tried everything that they advised. Fast forward to now and so far I have been able to get it to work with the work-arounds but needless to say, it doesn't operate as advertised. It has been a huge disappointment and the most frustrating experience that I have had with any product in my 70 years :(.

It frustrates me that the GM system makes use of pretty much the same gear and people don't seem to be having the same issues. The only thing different? The charging station IIRC.

It's almost like @Ford Motor Company needs to either open it up or replace the Siemens units.
