But. Even though I have applied those two updates to the powertrain, 1) Ford has not told dealer techs that they should proceed to update '22/'23 model Lightnings' yet, and 2) as a result of that...I can't (nor can anybody else) get a software verification code that confirms that the software that's been applied meets the requirements of 25C69. The FSA tool simply says it can't find the TSB for 25C69. So this effectively prevents any dealership techs from applying the update/clearing the recall/getting paid for doing it.
Thank you for your insight. That would explain why my dealer was having issues getting the verification code after performing the updates on my 2023.

You won’t even have to go back in all probability. Once it’s announced on PTS that techs can now apply the update the SA can go to the FSA verification located under the Diagnostics menu and click the verify button to get the code and put that in the required section to clear the recall.

I have mobile service for this recall scheduled for Monday morning on my 2024 Lariat ER. The scheduling team claims that the fix is available and can be deployed by the mobile tech team, so fingers crossed that's true. I figure it's better to do it this way than potentially wasting a trip to the dealership only to find out that they can't do it.

Side note/rant: I once made an appointment on my dealer's website to take care of a prior recall. When I checked in at the dealership, the service advisor told me that their Lightning techs are only there specific days of the week and that I can't really rely on the web scheduler. That was frustrating, but they seem to have a new process in place where they call you back after scheduling just to confirm everything.
UPDATE: The tech came out this morning and applied the update. Took about 30 minutes, all in. Some alerts popped up on the dash and in the app (front collision assist and rear cross-traffic failures), but turning the vehicle off and then on again cleared these. Took it for a brief test drive and everything seemed normal.

24 Lariat. Just had 25C69 completed yesterday. That and a few other items were done in half a day. The ticket says the 25C69 recall needed updates to: SOBDMC, SOBDMB, SOBDM, PCM, ABS and BECM software verification. I haven't looked (yet) to see what all of these actually are.
My dealer service has been great.

"The defect is mechanical binding inside the Integrated Park Module that can stop the park pawl from fully engaging with the slider, so the transmission may not actually lock in Park even though Park was selected. "
"If the binding condition occurs, the customer will see no illuminated range position (P is not illuminated), and a wrench light and shift system fault message will be displayed in the instrument panel cluster."
Update not available for my 2022 yet.
I always set the parking brake, but like I tend to do, I need to watch for "brake" indication on the IPC to be sure or at least see that P is indicated.

Well It's now the morning of the 25th and there is no update on this as was promised (see above). So '22/'23 Lightnings are still not able to get scheduled for repair yet.

I dropped my 2022 Lightning off this morning, the service writer said an update for the IPM was available for my truck, we'll see this afternoon if that was actually the case once the technician get's his hands on my truck. It's primarily in for the Trailer module (another thread) and 30k service.

Interesting sales technique, the SM prints out a multi color sheet with three 'LEVELS' of services recommended for 30,000 miles, the first all inclusive is $542, the middle was mid 400's and the lowest was $310, that included tire rotation, cooling system check/fill (testing the PH strength), 12v battery test, multipoint inspection of drivetrain and wear items. The top service included oil change ...... HMMM..... I reminded him that the first oil change is not due yet so I'll wait for it around 150k

That’s not just an inspection. It’s a new lightbar.

The original recall to replace the lightbar was done summer of '23. I actually had to wait for it to be done before the dealer could sell me the truck. This is a second recall from Oct 2025 specifically to inspect it to be sure it was installed correctly. I seldom drive in the rain so 'ya never know, but hopefully it won't require replacement again.

Were they able to apply the fix for the parking pawl recall on your truck today?

They are not done working on my truck, they've had it 12+ hours and no call from the SM that it's done, they had worked on it mid day, GPS showed it in the shop area, the tire pressure readout showed 9502 on all wheels which is an sign of software updates being applied, then later in the afternoon, it was back out on the back lot.

Hopefully they wrap up whatever the holdup is and I pick her up Thursday.

Two days of beautiful weather to ride the Road Glide so I'm not super anxious to get it back.

From PTS this morning. Notice it says it's still an Advance Notice. No dealer should be trying to do this until the full bulletin has been released (around the middle of May).
