Who are you/we?

If data is being collected, it would be good to at least know what entity is collecting it.
Here's the company page for Mocha EV. Update:

We're pre-launch and validating ideas to make necessary adjustments. Thanks for your interest and support!

Since they didn't provide a company link.

Looks like a service for stranded EV drivers in the Austin area.
Thanks for posting. Austin is the market we'll enter in. We'll expand as we get more participants on board. Growing nationwide is the goal, one step at a time.

What is range anxiety?
Answer: FUD.

Is this company a provider of charge, or just a sort of matchmaker between those who have charge and those who need it? If the latter, let's hope they treat providers better than certain ridesharing app companies do.

Funnily enough, just got back from Austin. Lowest charge level I've got to yet.

Definitely looks like the perfect market area for this type of service.

Triple A provides mobile EV charging service in Portland & Bend Oregon and 12 other metro areas (none in Texas) in our existing coverage. I haven't tested it, or heard of it being used, so can't say how quick is the service. Once you live with an EV for a period there isn't range anxiety, only frustration about lack of charging ports along some routes and slow DC speed.

Nope. I use the full capacity of my battery. I can charge at home, which frees me from the constraints of having to reserve something “in the tank” to get back to the gas station.

And on road trips (we’ve done about 45,000 miles of road trips in our two vehicles combined), we have drawn down to 4% remaining and still haven’t really been all that troubled.

In the several million miles I’ve driven, I’ve run out of fossil fuel more times per ICE mile driven than I’ve even come close to running out of electrons per EV mile driven.

Posting what I wrote.

Not interested. Adding the vehicles to show you the thought process of picking which electric vehicles are capable of V2V.

F150 Lightning would be primary for this V2V use case (Pro Power Onboard option on some Lightnings: 30 amp 240v V2L socket = ~ 5kW per hr = ~10-15miles per hour charging a stranded EV, would need a J+ booster Portable EV charger cable to down rate to 24 amps). I've read some Lightning owners would be interested years ago when the V2V topic came up on the forums. V2V doable with a Lightning with PPOB option or any EV truck with a 30 amp 240v socket.

Kia EV9 could technically do V2V but impractical for a distance more than 1 mile from a fast charger (1.5kW V2L circuit= ~1kW level 1 charging per hr = ~ 2 miles per hour to a stranded EV = not worth it).

As experienced EV driver for 6 years. I don't have range anxiety. I know how to EV route plan. My EV has route planning built in to the nav. You're business case is built on new EV drivers. Advertise at Demo Day.

Agreed, though most here I suspect have that experience with a vehicle that has a pretty good range.

At the risk of sounding like the old guy starting with, "Back in my day...", let me do just that! 😉

I've been driving a Focus Electric for over eight years and I like to think of it as a great way to learn how to overcome and learn how to work with limited range. Rated at 160 km (100 miles), one learns quickly that that is plenty for most daily use, but requires some new planning for running around on a weekend, especially on cold winter days when the range can drop to just above 100 km (60 miles).

Our first road trip was in the summer of 2019. It required careful planning as DCFCs were few and far between, with a small number of sites with only one or maybe two units. It was like planning fuel for an aircraft: have enough to get you to your destination plus enough to get to an alternate. The trip ended up pretty easy to do.
