The shoe certainly does seem to fit your foot :)

Are you going through the chat via your personal Ford account page? I only see two 'Inquiry' options if so -

Yup, select the first one for vehicle features. Make sure you use the language specifically or they can give you very generic information.

"Can I please get the last 2 primary and secondary statuses on my VVR please?"

If they give you generic - your tracker shows shipped. You can either insist or give it 5 min and reinitiate the chat. "Thank you, can I get the details in the VVR please?"

She's the friendliest one of the bunch.

Ah Priscilliana...I haven't met her yet. I'll have to contact them more often...
So what's next, Poirot, in my investigation? Search CSX scheduling between New Boston and North Carolina?

Or is it Holmes?

Neither are yellow, so I'm not sure that works. Maybe SpongeBob. He's definitely yellow.

Next you search to see who's your shipper. It could be CSX, or it could be NS.

I would pull up https://www.unitedroad.com/delivery-receipt and search your VIN. Does anything come up? If so, it should tell you your destination which will give more info.

If you're on CSX, there's a New Boston -> Charlotte, NC train. It looks like it's a 9-10 day train trip, unless you end up on Memorial Day which will add a couple of days. If you're already on the ramp, there's a train leaving today. The cutoff is 7min from this post. Hopefully in 10 minutes you can ping ford chat to confirm a railcar. If it's not on the railcar then the next one out is Sunday. Good luck!

Yeah United Road hasn't given me anything to date. I had assumed CSX because of you and others so I also searched CSX scheduling a bit ago. I presume it'll be CSX because the truck needs to come to Charlotte. But that's crazy to take 9 days from Michigan to North Carolina!

I think it might actually be NS. So it's not enough to have the railway, it has to have an automotive distribution center. CSX uses TDSI for auto and they don't have any in the Charlotte area.

Norfolk Southern on the other hand does in Winston-Salem. So my guess is you'll go through them.

**(Take all this with a grain of salt, I've learned this information over the course of the last 3-5 days)

NS is not so user friendly on scheduling and such like CSX so I'll be going back in my hole for now.

Unfortunately it is not...
Based on this map:
http://www.nscorp.com/nscorphtml/ar04/pdf/p2.pdf

It looks like you have no less than 5 stops to get to NC. You'll follow @Ford Senior Master through Cinci, which has taken quite a bit of time. In my experience each one of those dots on CSX is anywhere from 2 hours to 14 hours of stop time plus unexpected things.

My train took 6 hours to travel roughly 60 miles today because some @-hole of an engineer decided to hit the bar before drawing the map. I mean look at this.

You can clearly tell he started with a beer on the top left. By the time he hit confluence he was hitting the hard stuff before finally sobering up and straightening out around Meyersdale and going crap the map goes that way. And no, I refuse to believe that the mountains and rivers had anything to do with it.

Thanks, was more curious about whether the date of me receiving the 'Shipped' email related to any concrete event i.e. truck was loaded onto something or just a random date the Ford system decides to send the email?
We would need eyes on the ground to validate an event action of your trucks tread marks on the ramp

Until Ford was able to release it to CSX, upon which it went back to "shipped". But it still sat at the ramp until it was loaded onto a railcar. Upon which it was given a railcar number and then subsequently actually departed Michigan for what I would consider "shipped".
I agree it might take several days to load a string of rail cars, assemble them into a group of rail cars then dispatched from the Rouge railyard to Blue Island or other eastern switch yards, get your rail car number and track it's movement I was made aware on a Saturday evening, but the rail cars did not roll until Monday afternoon
