I experienced a "Service Vehicle Soon" alert this morning but it appeared to resolve itself by this afternoon. This evening I logged into Ford.com to see if I find any additional information about the issue and found a "recommended action" to sign up for access to a Ford EV Advisor. So... I signed up and got a "welcome" text about two hours later. Chatted with what seems like a real person and they said they're available 24/7, except select holidays.

A quick search of this forum didn't yield any results on this. Has anyone else seen this? Is this just an EV thing or are they rolling this out for all customers?

That sounds handy - did the person have the ability to look up the code that caused the "service vehicle soon" notification?

So, I didn't get into discussing the "service vehicle" issue*. Not knowing anything about the advisor feature, I didn't want to bring it up at the time. In hindsight, it seems like it's more geared to helping owners figure out their EV rather than solving service problems. If (when?) the alert comes back I might just message them to see what they say...

*My guess is it's the gear shift module that needs replacing...

Yes, I'm aware of this, when it was originally promoted I signed up for it, it does seem ai like (Where is Brian?) so far I haven't had a need to chat with system, maybe I could nag it about when my next OTA is due to arrive?

Smells like AI to me?
Could be!

I didn't post the entire conversation but I could go either way on it being a human on the other end of the line. I think the thing that caught my attention is that Ford went out of their way to mention it was unavailable during "select holidays." One other metric, I did receive a follow-up email afterward asking about my experience, not that that means anything either way... Just found it all interesting.

If it is the same thing that I have had, it has been a waste of time and mostly annoying. A digital entity impersonate a human and reaches out to me to show that it cares, when I answer the text it sends it to a human either after initial contact or after a few more exchanges when the robot is stumped.

The human has never been able to provide an accurate and useful answer. If you don’t know anything and are unwilling to search the manual or forum to find an answer, the human may be able to tell you something you don’t know.

Overall, it seems an attempt by Ford to provide the feeling of support without putting actual resources or training behind it.

I concur with @Maxx, but I don't think any AI is involved, it is simply an automated text reaching out, and if you respond a human gets involved. They were zero help.
