It was on heat, in that it was pushing warm air, or that the Heater indicator was lit?Are you using Auto or setting it manually? I've noticed that it will kick on the heat when using Auto without my hitting the button. On occasion, I wanted cool air and discovered to my dismay that it was on heat. Tapping off the heat took me off the Auto setting.
It wasn't blowing cold, but it wasn't hot either. That jives with your assessment. I believe it was mid 70's and with the sun out I needed cooler air.It was on heat, in that it was pushing warm air, or that the Heater indicator was lit?
The heater button on screen being lit does not indicate it is heating, just that it can. I expect disabling that and turning full hot (or just higher than outside temp) is the equivalent to straight outside air.
Old guy comment here but back in the day you would go full cold, but not push the AC button, to get outside air. This is likely the same, go full cold and disable AC, or full hot and disable heat, for the same effect.
Again, the heater button being on does not indicate that it is currently making heat. The heater coming on uncommanded & unnecessarily is the biggest grip I have with both Lightnings & wife's 2024 Mach-e. Rolling along an car getting warmer, turn down the temp, no response & then find the Heat button on - grrrr. Even have this happening in Manual mode. Assine !
Interesting! Yes, I will test this and report back, thank you!It was on heat, in that it was pushing warm air, or that the Heater indicator was lit?

Same with the AC - I noticed this as wellI seem to recall once when I was trying to work from my truck in a parking lot back a couple of winters ago that the heat will not run unless the truck is actually in "running" mode. It would not heat in accessory mode - just runs the fan. (But it will run the A/C in accessory mode).
It wasn't on auto. Someone else mentioned to check if the actual heat selection was on in the venting options screen. I will check this variable and report backAre you using Auto or setting it manually? I've noticed that it will kick on the heat when using Auto without my hitting the button. Exactly.Seems strange Ford set it up this way but you have to hit the Heat button on the page where you set which vent you want, defrost, floor, etc. if it is not highlighted. Last winter every once in a while I had to turn on the heat by pushing this button when I didn't have any heat. Give this a try.
same thing happened to me and I made the same discovery - go figureUpdate:
So it is related to the heat button as one might suspect. The heat option that resides in the vent options menu somehow is becoming deselected and I haven't discovered a pattern or clue why this is a thing all of a sudden and why it wasn't a thing previously.
The heat works thankfully, I just have to check that it is selected when I realize the heat isn't on.
So there's a definitive ac on/off and a definitive heat on/off.
