Just as an aside, recently brought my truck in for routine 20,000 mile check. Technician said air filter still looked OK and did not recommend changing till next inspection.

YesThis is the cabin air filter?
Agree, the test would be if it smelled like oneIf it was in a bundle like that when you pulled the filter, it looks like a rodent nest to me.
Good to know, I have 20K on the truck and have yet to bring it in for the routine checksJust as an aside, recently brought my truck in for routine 20,000 mile check. Technician said air filter still looked OK and did not recommend changing till next inspection.
I live in an area with hantavirus--I won't be smelling any rodent nests.Agree, the test would be if it smelled like one![]()

Let us know what is documented on your work order after it's done, curious minds would also like to know.Another interesting item. The day after I had my 20,000 mile check up I got a call from the dealer. I was advised that there were two mandatory software updates that were required. They said that they would send out a mobile service unit to accomplish the update. The technician came today and carried it out, but was unable to advise me as to what the purpose of the update was, stating only that it was mandatory. Does anyone have any additional information?
call / email the service manager, ask them to print/mail or email you the work report. Will do. However, I was not asked to sign any kind of receipt after he completed the update and was advised there would be no charge. I wasn’t given any paperwork, and there was no indication of any software change when I looked at the app.
Sorry to hear this, BTW, what model year and trim level is your Lightning? So far, a total disaster.
Sounds like the tech ran your 12-volt battery down while doing the updates. I predict that you will get a new 12 volt or a recharge and they'll give you your truck back.So far, a total disaster. When I first started up the truck, I got a whole series of messages about inoperative components. I tried to upload a video, but the file was too large. It appears that the technician never even tested the truck after installed the update. I called the dealer. They’re coming in the morning to pick up the truck and will leave a loaner. Obviously, quite concerned at this point. I had a perfectly normally operating truck and have a hard time understanding what was done. Essentially, none of the electronics work, including cameras, cruise control, sensors of every type as well as choice of display. There is no automatic, breaking, lane centering or traffic display in the side mirrors.
