Truck is 2023 Lariat with extended battery. He was working for about 2 hrs. Could be the battery. I was going to try and disconnect it but then I decided I didn’t want to be in a position where they claimed I had anything to do with the problem.

Do you know if they connected a battery maintainer when they did the two hours worth of updates?

I decided I wanted a better filter than the stock one to hopefully cut down on outside smells. Up to this point the dealer has done all the services.
Not having a rat or a mouse in there should help with the smells!

The dealer came and picked up the truck today and left a loaner Bronco. I tried to contact him by the end of the day, but was unable to reach him which is not too surprising. The fellow that picked up the truck said that they had a similar problem with a Hyunda recently. I will post an update when I get more news.. Obviously, a very frustrating situation

Keeps getting worse. When I spoke to the service manager yesterday afternoon, he said they were unable to program the computer. It was quite vague as to what the next step was other than to assure me they will get it resolved. When I spoke to him about reviewing the reason for the service update, he was unable to provide any answer. He could find no mandatory updates that were required, and of course can offer no explanation as to what went wrong or why the service technician left the vehicle in the state that it was after doing the update. Although he did not specifically say so it sounds to me like the whole computer will have to be replaced. Of course they have limited experience with electric trucks and I insisted that they stay in close contact with Ford and he assured me that they would.

Sounds like the tech ran your 12-volt battery down while doing the updates. I predict that you will get a new 12 volt or a recharge and they'll give you your truck back.
Yes, I think so too.

Some of the mobile techs apparently don't know how to properly maintain the 12V battery while doing a long update, it is critical. I remember one post where the mobile tech hooked up a battery tender incorrectly to the battery terminals BMS instead of the correct jump connection.

The connection should be at the blue circles not the red X's (the image was uploaded by another member of the forum and I copied it):

They don't seem to know much about what is mandatory and for what vehicle or don't check before hand.

Generally that shouldn't matter (an unneeded update should NOT break your truck) IF they keep the battery fully charged during the update.

I think that is the problem your vehicle encountered. A poorly trained technician who didn't connect the battery correctly.
