I'll be happy to have my truck delivered in January. Thinking it will be delivered in December is a pipe dream that everyone is holding on to just to be disappointed.
I think so my dad took 6 weeks to get his last year (and I actually think we will get the tax credit but we will see-bias lol)

My dealership thinks I have a good shot at 12/31, even with a 12/11 blend date and 500 miles between us and REVC. Unless @Ford Motor Company is making specific arrangements to ensure that they ship and deliver everything that is finished before Christmas (which would be a great PR move), I think my dealership may be overly optimistic.

It’s in Fords best interest to deliver as many as they can before end of year. They want to be able to report to their shareholders that they delivered XXXX amount in 2022. With EVs being the topic of the last couple years…they need to look good to show how they are moving toward electrification. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them crank the boosters in the assembly line and get us our trucks

Just found this place. Lariat LR #183/887 with a blend of 12/6. In Colorado so we shall see, but would love to get this puppy before the end of the year.

DO any of you guys know a good comprehensive checklist I can use when I pickup the truck to identify problems? If it is specific to lightning or Pro, even better (I know there has been different problems reported but don't have a list).

Not legal/tax advice (consult your own lawyer/tax preparer):

I think the government website charts are currently incomplete. In any event, I believe the one you want is this one:

https://afdc.energy.gov/laws/electric-vehicles-for-tax-credit

It also does not currently list any of the 2023 Fords, but it does list the 2022 MY F-150 Lightning. I am not aware of any possible difference between the MY 2023 and MY 2022 F-150 Lightning that would change their eligibility for purposes of the tax credit for a vehicle delivered to you in 2022.

Personally, I am doing everything I can to get delivery in 2022. Sadly, it does not appear that I can do much of anything.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I've seen people in the 11/21 build week I believe posting shipping estimates of 1/1/23 just saying. I wouldn't be counting on same month deliveries. Ford isn't going to eat expensive expedited shipping cost to ship vehicles they're already losing money on to satisfy investors.

I was just checking to see how things work with Tax credit if by some miracle I get the truck this year. Went to IRS site to make sure if the truck qualifies and this is what I saw:

Does that mean even if we get the truck in December, since it is 23 model year, we still don't qualify? Are we better off to get a January delivery?

Day 1 of 2023 starts additional requirements for the truck to qualify. At this time it’s not clear if the lightning Meets these requirements.

For 2022, It’s my understanding that the full credit is still available (22/23MY) if you take delivery this year, but you will only qualify if your personal taxes qualify.

I am no accountant though, so don’t base your decision on this

As stated in another thread.....

The model year 2023 Lightnings delivered on or before 12/31/2022 to the first retail buyer will qualify for the potential maximum $7500 credit subject to all the economic factors of an individuals personal tax position, lets not get to far into the weeds on this concern.

That opens up another can of worms. I just got off the phone with Ford to see what is the deal with the expiration date of the cash offer (1/3/23 for me). Some say it is the date by which you have to order but she confirmed it is the expiration date for cash offer. I said, Ford had it on the order page, and it was the reason I ordered the truck. She kept saying you have to talk your dealer. My dealer don't even acknowledge the cash offer exist. January delivery may mean $11K+ of difference.

That’s a worry of mine as well but as far as I have heard for other ford vehicles (Bronco, etc), ford issues a new expiration date.

Your best bet is to go to the dealer and ask them to look up your account in SMART VINcent. This is where the info is.

watch this video. This is a good starting point but the rest of the video is beneficial. This clip talks about price protection (when MSRPs change after ordering) and private offers (an offer from ford directly to the customer which they supposedly hand out here and there based on your history ?):
