my turn signal stay down and I have to pull it up. the CT has it on the steering wheel, which I have fallen in love with.

we are going to trade the lightning in for a model X plaid when warranty wears out. hopefully they will still have the free supercharging for life that we got on the CT. they do have free supercharging for life on X if you buy what is in inventory.

Two cab heater cores, one 12 volt battery, and latest the gear shifter broke.

Thinking of switching from Lightning to Model Y. LOL!
I think the size difference is just too much to bear from lightning to Y IMO. Get an AWD Cybertruck. You won’t regret it!

Just to close the loop on this one - sold my X and got a Lightning Platinum. Love the Lightning, but the software is terrible; that's the only thing I miss coming from a Model X. I may go back to a Model X in a few years when my wife lets me switch.

Funny - to each his/her own for sure. I had 3 consecutive Tesla leases from 2016 thru end of 24. 2016 P90D Model S 2019 P100 Model S and 2022 X. I def liked my S's more than the X. Felt like the Falcon Wings were a death trap waiting to happen for my family, and some overly impractical tech IMO (finger swipe to Drive/Reverse and putting the horn away from the center of the wheel. All in all they were great cars to drive but honestly i got bored.

Driving my F150 Flash feels so good. The software is functional and fine. Having a steering wheel, mechanical wipers, a gear shifter and the ease roomy space and real pickup truck functionality is amazing.

you purchase hardware based on the software you want to use. if you buy hardware then use what software will run on it you will be unhappy. this is the Ford problem. hardware is nice but it has crappy software. I purchased a cybertruck because the software was superior. will trade in my Lightning when warranty ends for a model X. will keep the cybertruck with free supercharging and FSD for many more years. it does not have as soft of a ride as lightning which rides like a 70's Cadillac.

Yeah, I can't just see myself driving a CT and not looking like a total goofball. For now, it's the Lightning.

Our 2023 Model X has been a roller coaster and seriously considering trading it in for a Lightning Platinum.

What's the experience been like for those who moved over from a Model X? One major complaint that seems to come up is the infotainment complared to Tesla, and how it's rather slow. Is it that bad, especially coming from a Tesla? Also, how has range been on the Lightning compared to the Model X?
I did in feb25. Had 3 teslas from 2016 thru end of last year. Pre Elon stuff. 2 model S and then a 2022 X.

I loved my teslas and used them hard. In the video business and often filled them up w gear during the week and my wife and dogs on the weekend to our sierra place. Honestly I loved the S way more than the X, which I felt over rotated on some dumb tech.

so I wanted something diff for my lifestyle and leased a 2024 Flash w 9.6kW pro power. I absolutely love it.

what do I miss? The sound system, dog mode and cabin video view on my phone…occasionally the comfort of driving a fancy car vs a ford pickup.

what do I not miss?
The lease payment, the yoke, the falcon doors, the touch screen drive, the Horn position, the expensive wheels.

what do I love about my F150.
Doing truck stuff. Loading tools, taking trash to transfer station without it being inside my car. Using the tail gate as work bench and a place to sit and drink coffee in the am.

What do I think of fords app ? It’s fine. I have adapted. You give up some fancy shit when you go from a $132000 car to a $68000 truck.

I’ve put 8000 miles on it in 4 months so I’m already over target on my 15k a year lease. I’ll probably just buy it barring some unknown breakdown.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

If you get a Tesla, you'll notice a night and day difference in software refinement and responsiveness. You get regular software updates. Drivetrain responsiveness is better. Their app has way more features. Better self-driving. You likely won't have as many reliability issues as compared to Ford. It's the easier EV to deal with having access to all Superchargers and never having to deal with unreliable networks. Ford only has access to V3 stations, and not all of them. Tesla has better service overall, but this probably varies based on region.

But there are cost-cutting issues with Tesla. They don't manifest themselves in unreliability, they show as just... missing. Tesla takes the approach of "the best part is no part". If they don't think they need it, they will delete or consolidate entire components. Can be a good thing, can be a bad thing.

Example: Lightning has a dedicated inverter for V2L. Telsa has integrated theirs into their charger, so you can't use V2L at the same time you are AC charging on the Cybertruck. Cheaper for Tesla, less capability for the customer, but more parts means heavier, less efficient vehicle.

There are some advantages. Ford has a nortoriously unreliable shifter with the Lightning. Tesla doesn't because, well, it doesn't exist. They even tried to get away with doing away with turn signal stalks on the new Model 3. Not a huge deal, more personal preference. I would prefer no shifter personally, but I would rather have a turn signal stalk.

I went from a Tesla Model 3 to a Lightning. They are both good cars. I find myself driving the Lightning more mostly because of it's ride, quiet cabin, elevated driving position, and it's capability as a pickup. But when it comes to software, the Model 3 wins, despite being 6 years older. I don't know how a brand new truck can feel so old when it comes to infotainment, but Ford really sucks in that area.

I think new EV owners should START with Tesla. They make it so much more easy. EV training wheels. Driving a Ford EV is like playing in expert mode. But as you find features missing at Tesla, you move on to other brands, and then it's a game of trade offs.

I agree. Tesla is the starter EV. After you are amazed with all the gimmicks then you can go back to what you're really looking for in a car.
