I drive my L:ightning into parking garages all the time. Just need to heed the clearance signage.

If the antenna hits, you will want to slow down and check the clearance.
I took my antenna off and replaced it with a stubby disk, so if that hits I have a real problem All kidding aside I am more concerned with other drivers than I am myself. I love my truck, and I would hate for it to even get a ding on the door. I try to park as far away from other cars as I can. Sometimes you cant, and people are so careless with their doors.

Sure, tech can be cool but I get in my car or truck and drive. Most of my charging is at home. i don’t require my car to remind me to plug in. Coming over from the MME forum, the complaints I heard the most was overall build quality. I like how both mine drive and so far no particular build issues with either.

I may complain occasionally how Blue Cruise ota is never coming but I never complain about the ride and the build going from A to B and back.

I've never driven a Tesla, but my final decision came down to the Lightning and a Model X because i wanted to tow a single horse trailer. In all honesty, the infotainment in Teslas is superior to nearly everything else on the road in the USA, save for the '25 Volvo/Polestar models which is beyond anything Tesla has put out. The lightning infotainment animates at something like 10FPS for everything, yes is that's laggy all the time. Touch response rate is also literally worse than my first generation iPod touch; if you can remember what "smartphones" were like before the iPhone, that's what the Ford infotainment is like, right now.

That said, you will pay through the nose for connectivity in the Tesla, as well as being at the behest of Tesla insurance (nearly everything in the Tesla requires premium connectivity, no CarPlay/AA either). My insurance is literally only 60$ more than my 10 year old Prius; Tesla refused to even quote me without me taking delivery of a vehicle. Buyer beware when it comes to Tesla insurance. Do your research.

I strongly considered getting an iPad and mounting it on top of the Tesla infotainment, but ended up deciding it was a bad idea in the summertime with our temps here being 40+ from June-September.

Seriously, if you can afford it, get the EX90 if you need towing. If you don't, get an EX30 or a Polestar whatever.

I'm bouncing back and forth between wanting to wait and see if they accept my buyback appeal, or just take what is being offered and trade the sucker in and get a Lightning.

I'm just tired of all the rattling, squeaks, noises and issues. Nobody should have to deal with all of that on a 1 year old car.
The Lighting won’t squeak or rattle, but it will chime, beep and ding dong you to death. I don’t know about the B&O Unleashed but the “sound system” in the Lariat Lightning is extremely underwhelming compared to a Tesla 3/Y premium. Yes the UI is extremely laggy and the navigation is bad. You can’t pinch/zoom/drag the Carplay map, Carplay will hijack your phone to function, it takes forever to type in a destination in the nav and the screen is low resolution even though the size is huge. It’s probably SVGA. It will take it seconds to load a new menu. It doesn’t have a hepa filter and if it’s cool outside it will defaut to turning recirculation off and it can turn it back off even if you just turned it on (you can end up with exhaust in the cabin if you are in an area where cars have bad exhaust). It’s a full sized truck in a paring lot. It has very good sensors and cameras but you will be doing extra turns in tight parking spots. The parking pal will allow the truck to roll when you put it in park if you don’t manually set the parking brake. If you have basic AP, BC is about that level. It won’t ever be driving you anywhere. The DCFC cables for CCS are much heavier and bulkier than a SC cable. CCS charging is more cumbersome than NACS and can be infuriating. In the app you can lock or unlock the car, but it won’t tell you if it was locked when you checked. If you open it again it will let you lock or unlock it but it still does not know if it is locked. You can set the climate, but it won’t tell you what the cabin temp is. If you leave your pets locked in there is no remote view, and you can’t tell what the temp is. If you have the AC on and you are charging and the charging stops (for any reason) the AC will turn off. I say these things because if a few squeeks bother you, these things might bother you too.

So going back to a few comments that have had a Tesla - are you Tesla owners seeing that ford tech is getting better and closing the gap a little ? I’ve never had a Tesla so just going off everyone’s statements about their tech - so it’s good to gauge the progress ford might be making even tho we think they move at a snails pace.
If anything it is worse. Tesla FSD got 10X better in the last year. It now drives me everywhere from my driveway to my destination parking lot. But that is not why we have the Lightning. It is for doing truck/haul things.

Since you have both in your garage, which do you love driving more?

Actually my previous 2018 M3P was the most fun and my favorite car I’ve ever owned by far. You would not think the size difference between the 3 and Y is that big but it is huge. The 3 feels like you are wearing it, you have great visibility and your front view is of the fender haunches so you know exactly where the tires are. I can’t see those in the Y and the rear window though large from outside is covered by a big plastic piece on the inside so the rear view is compromised. I sold the 3 to my brother so I get to visit it. He loves it, so all good. I also have Tesla insurance now so I could’t drive as “fun” as I used to.

I’m starting to get the Lightning how I want it. I finally jumped in the Forscan pool and turned off all the noises that bothered me and the lights that flashed and stayed on every time you opened or locked the truck, de-noised the pedestrian alert and frunk alert and got more aggressive tires.
