Since this weekend, I can't seem to "prepare" the cabin/battery for departure while plugged in (as it normally worked). I set the time for departure an hour or two in advance, always plugged in...check the app about 5 minutes before when it used to say "preparing cabin" and it shows nothing....and when I get in the truck, I can confirm that nothing was prepared.

I thought it was maybe the time change since it started this weekend, but i moved it an hour to what the previous time was and nothing happens either.

I did get the system shut down to save battery when i started the truck once a few days ago, but nothing in the last few days.

Any reason this may be happening or happen to anyone else?

Make sure the clock is accurate and automatic synchronization via the Sync screen.

Remove the departure times from the schedule via the Sync screen.

Reinput a fresh schedule via the Sync screen.

See if it works the following cycle.

NOTE: sometimes Ford App won't show that a departure event has started for a minute or two, I usually do a "pull down" refresh of the app to confirm accurate data flowing to the app, you'll be able to verify that it's current with the locator map shows "NOW" as the last update.

NOTE 2: Departure events kick off 5 minutes prior to programmed leave time and run for 10 minutes after anticipated leave time, if you're doing this two hours ahead of time, "as the leave time" that's way to early or I'm misunderstanding what your doing.

We’re having some pretty warm days here on the east coast of the US at the moment. Not sure what’s it’s like where you are in Canada but is it possible the truck doesn’t need to “prepare” the battery?

Check your phone software update as well. I lost complete app connectivity today. Had to:
  • Update iOs
  • Restart phone
  • restart Ford App
i have found even small iOS udates seem to mess with Ford (Pass) ability to communicate and/ or update.

Possibly..it was up to 55 today...but I don't know what's the cutoff to prepare the cabin and battery

Maybe it depends on what your settings are set to. If they’re set to cool or medium, perhaps the battery doesn’t need to be prepared and the cabin is good to go?

It doesn't get cold enough here for any serious data crunching, but I haven't noticed any serious pack warming above ~40. I'm sure that it takes place, but it just doesn't seem to be all that significant.

Check all your departure settings in the truck screen.

If you had the system shut down to save battery, that's a 12v battery undercharged or failing symptom.

When the 12v battery is weak, it sheds loads - other systems it powers - so that is likely the reason. The 12v battery is needed to engage the contactors that connect the HVB to the heating element which does the 'conditioning' so if it is weak, it won't happen.

Since you have a '22 this is about the time the 12v battery will shows signs of failure due to the Battery Manglement System the Lightning uses.

If you can, get the battery replaced under warranty then get a battery maintainer with an AGM mode and use it everyday.

Many thread about the 12v battery issues which manifest in a myriad of ways.

See this thread about the different ways to charge up the battery to get OTAs (and avoid off-loading of systems):

Also several threads here about putting trickle charger/maintainers on the battery and how to make it easier by adding a trickle charger wire:
