happen to know exactly the correct screw spec to use with this mount? (I found one at Lowe's so it's secure, but not sure if someone found one better. This mount.)

If you're replacing the mirror mount screw with a longer one then that's a 10-24 thread.
Length is likely 1/2 to 5/8ths. The FitCamX dash cam uses the same method.

All the adapters from the first order are reserved. I will order 20 more once the first batch is confirmed to be working as expected. I will post here once I put in the second order.

Just watched the video, nice! These are my inputs I.e. I am trying to help if anyone why I don't get errors. I don't use mirror adapter my cable goes directly into comma, I use factory mount, though I did flip mirror to set comma higher. I don't have sunroof, brake controller, trailer package and that knob where I have my charger. I don't have four buttons where my door locks are. Finally I have 9.6K power, small display and I do charge my home during hurricanes I just don't use the Ford station to do it. I will post anything else I think of.

Is your comma continuously powered? And if yes, where are you getting your 12v? If you are powering unit differently maybe That could explain why your not getting errors?

I use the obd2 it came with….I do power my Icom and 24/7 dash cam with a separate bienno battery. Maybe some sort of feedback?

Installed 3.1 last night. So far so good!

Feedback was already ruled out by multiple people. Please read through the thread for previous troubleshooting. OBD power has no effect on the issue.


Bad news for the adapters, the first batch came in and 1 was DOA due to a shorted connector. The rest are crossed over when they shouldn't be, leading the comma to be stuck in Dashcam mode due to lack of data pass through. I am working to resolve this, but will likely lead to another few weeks lead time at least.

My wife and I welcomed a new baby 4 weeks earlier than expected and my free time is fairly stressed at the moment, but I promise I am working as fast as I can. Unfortunately, if these are non salvageable, the price will have to go up on these in order to recoup costs. If any one would like to purchase the prototypes while waiting for the corrected adapters, please reach out. These will resolve the errors for you and will help fund the development of the final boards as well as keep the cost as low as possible. I am not making profit on these, I only plan on charging enough to recoup costs of development.

Alright, I figured out what went wrong with the original adapters, the pinout was incorrect for using the same connectors on each side. I have a new schematic to correct the issue and will be sending them off in the next couple of days once I have time to review a couple more times to avoid further waste. Here is an idea of what they will look like once they are completed, the footprint is pretty much the exact same as the stock coupler. I will have to wait for the new version to make a proper shell as I am changing the connectors for the next revision to be female to female as originally intended.
