Is anyone working to improve this? Shouldn't driver monitoring get more lenient as the ADAS improves instead of more strict?
see, you’re using common sense. That is not allowed when lawyers walk into a room.

And when you crack down on attention monitoring ineffectively on an open source project like this, you risk pushing people to forks that remove driver monitoring altogether.

Those forks aren't allowed to distribute to the comma 4 via comma.ai .. so it's not some easy point and click thing to get it on to your c4.

Do they even exist? If humans didn't suck, we wouldn't need this stuff.

Alas, you've got people admitting they couldn't hold on to or jiggle the steering wheel for a second and used a wrist weight instead to evade it right here on this thread. There's plenty of corner cases where they plow thru cars because they couldn't be bothered to let the system disable itself properly in an emergency.

I have an issue when I try to set the speed like it will with the comma disconnected, it runs wild. I use KM/H, and if I want to jump up lets say 30 km. It will maybe jump up 60-70 above, drop a bit, go up. Then I fight it a bit and some times it will go up 20 and then jump down to a number ending with 5. Eks. Go from 60 to 110, it can go down to 105 or wildly go up to 160. Clicking one time works well, but long click for 10 gets it riled up.

How do I get the log to send to bluepilot?

Is your predictive speed tuned on? I turned mine off because it would use mile markers, mail boxes, any number along the road. It‘s not a feature worth using.

The forks definitely exist. There is at least one seller of Comma clone devices which physically don't have a driver monitoring camera. They forked SunnyPilot with the safety code commented out, and it installs the same way as any other fork. Not saying it's mainstream... yet.

But I agree that people using a wrist weight on their steering wheel is more likely.

Just so we avoid these devices… where would one not, want to look for them at?

If Eric Jost is browsing these forums, there appears to be an error on your order form for a dock, please send me a DM.

If anyone considers themselves a coder and wants to try and help get this merged into bluepilot please reach out to me.

I'm really bowed up on two big things I think you guys will love, and I can't get to it.

WOW!

Tampered a bit with the settings and it now beats my former Tesla in both driving experience and FSD experience. Great job developing this!

This might be the best money I ever spent on car accessories or maybe in general. I have a 90 minute drive every day and this makes fatigue less of a worry and also the actual drive more fun!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you BluePilot team, community and developers of Comma.
id be interested in what settings you "Tampered"? Comma is great but no where close to FSD. I have both and it's not even close right now.

I like the comma way better than the FSD who I had on my former car. FSD is better for americans. In the EU its quite restrictive. Tampered and tampered. Just clicking through every now and then to try to fix why the numbers drop 5 when i go 10 up. A bit steep learning curve, but no pingponging in the lane and a true hands free experience. The tesla was nagging a lot about how i must grab the steering wheel.

Sorry for the darker pictures - it is hard to not get glare off the TPU.

These are the v3 couplers that are currently shipping and wanted to post an update as they are a bit different than before.

They still function the same as before and the lightning end will still go towards the truck. The main difference is that they are all 90 degree designs so we could use them in the dock integration as well as stand alone. They are also printed into TPU casing to prevent the separation we were seeing with the ASA cases.

The couplers can be ordered here: https://bluepilot.dev/lightning-coupler-order-page/
The sliding dock integration can be ordered here: https://bluepilot.dev/dock-order-page/

Orders are starting to die down a good amount, so we may not be ordering another batch after this round.

Also - I am technically back on ford - but in a 2025 (tron based) power boost. So looking to sell my c4 for now.

If anyone is interested I'll toss in a lightning coupler with it or discount a sliding dock the cost of the coupler. DM if you are interested.
