I see you're in Houston and likely bought in 2025 based on your handle, it came down to ideal weather, I'm not far from you, and traffic conditions, I get about 1.9 mi/kwh on my way to Houston, then once I'm actually in, it crawls up to 2.1-2.2 even after 160 or so miles of 1.9.

Ditto, ditto. Just checked the Ford app. Presumably got it at 1 am today, the scheduled time for auto updates. My truck is currently providing backup power for a several-hour ongoing outage caused by 50 mph winds. Before the power went out for good, it was sporadically off and on again. I threw the garage door open, saw the truck port LEDs green as if it had started automatically transferring power. I heard several ICE backup generators running in the neighborhood. Another major power flicker. The truck port LEDs went out and the house went dark. Didn't wait. Did the old manual unplug/replug charger head and the truck started providing backup power. There is a record in the Ford app under Charge Station, Insights, Transfer of a short transfer today, but its time is 45 minutes before the outage occurred and the wife says no outage occurred then at the listed Ford app time. So, I had the almost perfect opportunity to test the effect of the update on BPT, but I lost the fly ball in the stadium lights! šŸ˜‚

As they say, "One swallow does not make a summer."

But it looks like the backup power transfer(BPT) times reported in my version of the Ford app are off by one hour. As shown in my screen capture below, the major power transfer is reported ending around 9:56 PM on 3/15/26. It actually ended at 10:56 PM. Assuming the same 1-hour discrepancy, the initial, much briefer BPT actually ended around 7:47 PM, right around the time I observed green LEDs on the truck's charging port, as expected if the truck were providing automatic backup power to the house, right before a power flicker abruptly terminated the process. So, hopefully, ECG2-25.2.8.5, by providing "more seamless interaction between modules" in the truck's central communication system, better facilitates the coordination of automatic BPT between the FCSP and the truck. After some April 2024 updates, automatic BPT has almost never worked for me. Here's hoping that more testing shows that ECG2-25.2.8.5 is a big step towards getting automatic BPT to work reliably.

Perhaps the 1-hour discrepancy I'm seeing in BPT end times is due to the Ford servers I'm connected to not "springing forward" for Daylight Saving Time?!

I think it's the time setting in the FCSP itself that is being recorded, I have in the past reconfigured it after the DST transition semi annually, it's a PiA to do that so now I just leave it be with the time value being off by one hour half the year.

Yesterday's charging session finished around 4:36, but I didn't unplug until 4:58 EDT, while the FCSP recorded the event as 3:58 EST.

I’ll retest mine next Monday and report back. I have to reconfigure the FCSP again to the wifi and repair.

Tested "automatic" Backup Power Transfer with a simulated grid outage. No dice. The system sat 4'15" with no grid power, and the truck showed no signs of trying to initiate transfer. So much for ECG-25.2.8.5 fixing HIS unit automatic backup problems.

But hey, during yesterday's actual power outage, the grid power was flickering when the truck's backup power somehow came on automatically. What effect would a "flicker" have now during my simulated outage? So I quickly threw the main panel breaker on and off again. Sure enough, about 40 seconds later, the truck's charging port LEDs turned green, and about 1'20", the truck provided backup power to the house.

So, maybe in any power outage preceded by rapidly flickering grid power, I'll get automatic BPT... :crying:

Automatic BPT worked pretty reliably for me from about December 2023 through early April 2024. Some OTA update from Ford must have killed it for me. C'mon, @Ford Motor Company, figure out how you screwed things up then and undo it!
