Quick question. Does Silent mode/Dark mode cited at post #24 on page 2 make the truck go completely dark inside and out? Without having to throw a blanket or towel over the dash and sync screen.

We have occasions to go out to look at the stars or go to local night events such as fireworks shows and it's annoying to us and others parked around to pull in and wait for tail lights, interior lights, but we'd still like to play the radidio and/or have the heat or A/C on when doing so sometimes in the dead of winter or summer.
It only works when the truck is off. Think parked in a campground and you unlock the the truck to get something out. Opening doors keeps lights off. Then when you lock it back it won't honk or flash lights.

Once the truck is on, you have to take other measures to turn all those things off.

Here’s a thread with videos of it off and with it on.

Thanks. I guess. I just woke up after having this dream, or maybe it was a nightmare, that I was driving a truck with batteries instead of an gas engine. Thought I'd come to the computer for a reality check and have a cup of coffee. I hope nobody else is having this dream. It all started when I fell asleep watching a rerun of Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone. Guess I'll finish my coffee and hope there is a good ending to this story or if I am out in the Twilight Zone somewhere wondering around lost.

I got Forscan just before the holidays and just got a chance to make some changes. Global window open/close was something I enabled. I can press the unlock once then a second time and hold about 3 seconds and the windows go down. I can't get them to go up. I assume its lock and then lock a second time and hold and the only thing that happens is locking. I have rechecked my changes and all looked ok except on the APIM 7D0-09-01 I put the E in the wrong place. I have fixed that and still no joy. I also have enabled GF headlights so my APIM 7D0-09-01 is 6117 CEA8 FABF. What am I missing?

Triple check your changes, especially the BCM.

You can also open Easy Mode for each module and confirm the lines for Global are enabled. When you change As-Built, it changes Easy Mode, and vice versa. (Easy Mode just interprets the As-Built data).

Did you go into Sync and enable the feature: Settings> Vehicle> Windows?

I just went out to test the glare free and it works great. I went through the menu and saw remote window open was enabled, but remote window close was not. I did not test again, but I'm sure that has to be it.

It's buried in the notes so I added that step and instructions for use to post 1:
After changes go into Sync (Settings> Vehicle> Windows) and enable Remote Open and/or Remote Close.
Open: press and hold the unlock button on your key fob for at least three seconds.
Close: press and hold the lock button on your key fob for at least three seconds.

Cancel Open/Close: Press the lock or unlock button again.

Thanks for doing that. It will help someone else in the future I'm sure. Global Up Down was the first change I made. Before I did anything, I did a back up of all the modules. Its not too bad to use NotePad to read the back up file and compare. Global up down and Glare free change the same APIM "KEY". As a retired IT guy its a lot like doing edits on the Windows Registry.

AsBuilt Explorer is good for comparing

Do anyone knows how to extend the maximum time of 30 minutes pre-heat? When there is a lot of snow and really cold (and the car is plugged in) I would love to sometimes be able to let it run for longer to melt the snow.

Not sure there's away aside from just going out and starting it. That's a carryover from the ICE vehicles that Ford didn't update.

do the forscan mod to disable the shutoff timer and start it manually as PJ suggested

If you do a departure time while it is plugged in, I believe it will condition the cabin and battery starting 90 minutes prior to the departure time depending on the ambient temperature. That should be more than enough time to defrost everything while doing it on house current.

...and it is very easy to reengage the cabin preheat from the app, should the set cabin preheat be set for earlier than You actually get to use the truck. It's on the front webpage of the FordPass app.

We just came back from a trip to Newfoundland Canada and we used this function often... we tried to plug in overnight at the Level 2 ChargePoint stations which seem to be fairly plentiful in the Canadian Maritimes. Then, if we got our act together by, say, 10 A.M. and the truck cabin preheat had been set for 8 A.M., I or the Nephew would just click on the FordPass "CLIMATE / Reengage" (my word here, from memory) and the truck would restart the cabin preheat, pulling the juice from the ChargePoint L2 overnight cable.

A very useful feature in the hard Canadian cold. Hope this is helpful.
