Lack of OTA Updates...Am I the Only One?

It looks like Ford must be doing these in batches. I got 6.1.0 today as well, and got some of the previous updates on the same day as others.

I've come to the conclusion that Ford's update team compares vins to the winning tickets in the office lottery pool. If you match, you get an update. If not, sorry 'bout your luck, maybe next week.

I'd really like to know exactly how Ford's system queues updates. I understand rolling them out slowly in case of bugs (don't want to brick every single Lightning on the same day, that would be a hoot), but the only other thing I can think of is that they don't have the server/system capacity to transmit updates to more than a (relative) few vehicles at a time.

They really need to be better organized and transparent with how updates work. It would be great if they truck showed "Update X downloaded, ready to install," and then it gets installed on demand or per schedule. If it fails, the reason needs to be shown on the screen. The numbering of updates needs to be more understandable. Finally, we need to see an update history or at least a current version number.

I think part of the confusion is that updates don't necessarily have to come in order. That's understandable, if there's a critical safety update they need to be able to quickly push it without having to get all trucks updated up to that point.

I think you and I are on the same OTA distro list. The one that fell off the table and no one has noticed yet.

Gave up and try to stop caring for the OTA. It will only frustrate you more. As long as I can drive and charge the vehicle just fine Ill take that as a win.
