Fordpass energy pane will report about 91% of "Actual" energy, but that doesn't explain the substantial under reporting you are seeing 33a of 48a is ~69%

The charging speed in AC is programmable in the Fordpass app under the Energy label.
Can we see a screenshot of this? I haven’t seen this before or mentioned before by anyone else. Maybe a new model year thing?

Have you checked the truck for DTCs? When my Mach-E did this, it would throw a code indicating charge port over temp. I ended up getting the charge port replaced.

Not at all and thats the funny part of it. It behave like it has a 8 kw charger and with some occasional spike to 11kw.

as others may have alluded to, the truck does not 'manage' any amperage, it draws the maximum the EVSE will allow, up to the truck's Converter's maximum 48amps ....
-if you have a 20amp 240v EVSE at 4kw, then that's all the truck will get....
-if you have a 8amp 240v EVSE at 11kw or higher, the truck will only draw a maximum of 48amps

as to why your charging amperage is fluctuating, or less than the EVSE's maximum output, otherwise, is something to do with the EVSE... regardless of whether it works differently with another vehicle...

I would suggest using another EVSE and see what happens...

many of us had this happen with the Ford Mobile EVSE, with a lower than 30amp maximum output to the truck, for little apparent reason, as it may have worked perfectly for a year, and now it has changed...
-my Adjustable EVGreen 240v 30amp EVSE works flawlessly, with never any issue, at 7kw
-my slower 240v 20amp EVSE works perfectly, too...

but, the Ford Mobile EVSE still 'derates' charging - probably due to an internal oversensitive sensor, heat related, but, really, who knows... it works, it charges, just not optimally

WRONG

The OBCC adjusts amperage based on lowest common denominator of:
A) Pilot signal form EVSE stating supply limitations regarding wiring constraints and
B) Truck side operator manual limitation (seen in newerst model year trucks) dialabled max amperage, coming soon to older trucks

I agree, heat in the port may be causing the OBCC to derate, this needs further testing on other EVSE's with a 48 amp capacity range to prove that the problem is a truck side issue.

I have a BMW I4 that happily charge at 48A on the same charging station and has been doing so for the last 2 years. I never saw anything under 48A with that car. Clearly the Ford is restraining the current. I have an appointment with the dealer i can't wait to see what they will find or tell me, i'm an engineer so i understand these things they can't fill me up with anything.
