No, I've seen that happen and I've always carried my FOB with me, so it's not because you haven't used the FOB at all. IIRC you should have the FOB present during this routine in the event the update munges the current PAAK configuration, better find that FOB or go to the dealer to have another made.Did Ford finally figure out I lost my FOB a few months ago and have only used my phone as PAAK since then.
Is this a security feature or a real update that is going to cause me problems since I can’t find it. lol….

I got it about the same time as well. I got my fob and had it in the truck, I also was never instructed to interact with it during the process, but I figured it was authenticated during the new key process. It would need to know which profile/fob to tie my PAAK to somehow.I got this three days ago. Took about two minutes and while Ford said I needed a fob, it did not use it in the update
I didn't have the fob directly with me when I did the update. It was about 50ft away in the house. I saw and started the update, went to get the fob and before I got back, the update was done.I got it about the same time as well. I guess we need a guinea pig, who is willing to try and update their PAAK without getting their FOB? I need to check my partners phone, if he needs the update then I'll try it without the fob tonight.
Flash trim level does not have PAAK.Has anyone ever had PAAK work on 24 Flash?
I know that, but the Ford CS rep I spoke to months after my purchase actually sent me the instructions on how to program it. She had my model and vin number too.Flash trim level does not have PAAK.
Even if they sent you instructions why would it work on a Flash? The CS was probably mistakenI know that, but the Ford CS rep I spoke to months after my purchase actually sent me the instructions on how to program it. She had my model and vin number too.

Correct. I even questioned her. But she had my vin and looked it up. I'm not talking a dealer, I'm talking about Ford's BEV team.Even if they sent you instructions why would it work on a Flash? The CS was probably mistaken
Possibly, sure sounds interesting for all the Flash ownersCorrect. I even questioned her. But she had my vin and looked it up. I'm not talking a dealer, I'm talking about Ford's BEV team.
What's amazing is I've called them twice now about BC1.4 with no luck other than it's a roll out by Vin #s , yet they are more than willing to help with PAAK when I already knew it didn't exist.
What extra hardware is needed to get PAAK. Seems like it should just be a programming thing since we already have WAL. Along with Bluetooth and wifi.
Rick
Now you've got me curious... how many configured Bluetooth pairings do you have on your Android or iPhone? I have two. One called "Ford F-150 Lightning" and the other "XXXXX F-150". The latter is, of course, a masked number, which I assume is unique to my vehicle. What extra hardware is needed to get PAAK.
