My lightning was at a very low state of charge (10% left). A little unusual for me but anyway. I have a charge time set to prevent the truck from charging during peak times. I plugged in during a scheduled time but when it got to the end of the preferred time it continued to charge for another hour until the truck reached 40%. Anyone else have this happen?

It is odd that it disregarded your time constraints, are you saying the truck stopped on its own at 40% or did you manually stop the process once you discovered the situation?

Under regular circumstances what do you charge to: 70%, 80%, 90% ?

I looked at "Target Charge" values, I can't set a SOC below 50%.

Also note there is a seperate timeframe for weekends vs. weekdays, what day and hour did you plug in the truck?

This was today and It automatically stopped at 40%.

This routine isn’t normal for me. The truck is normally charged once it get around 45-50%. I have solar on my house and to try and use the maximum amount of sun shine so I use as little from the grid is possible.
I set the weekend charge to run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. I plugged the truck in at 1:00 and expected to restart the charging after 2:00 but noticed it continued to charge. Wasn’t really worried since I was going to do this anyway. But found it strange that it didn’t stop charging until it got to 40%.

What in more concerned about is if the truck is below 40% and it continues to charge during peak times this can cost a lot more than I would expect

Your settings should result in:
Saturday 1:03 hours of charging then pause at 2p
Sunday 4:00 hours of charging from 10a to 2p

It's not following time constraints, not sure why, I'll assume the time settings on the Sync screen is correct and following daylight savings time (if observed in Phoenix)

I'm not certain if they have an exception rule to prioritize SOC over time limitations.

Set from 8PM to 2AM. That will fix it

How will that setting only allow a charge from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm? Your setting will charge when I have no sunlight and using the grid to charge. Or am I missing something?

I'm curious if this is an issue with the truck or is it an issue with the Charge Station Pro? Would like to know if anyone else has seen that if your below 40% does it ignore your schedule?

I was not thinking about having to charge during solar. Here 8pm to 8Am is off peak hours. Maybe your circuit got overloaded that day and it stopped. Or battery got too hot depending on where you are.

So the first issue is the charge SHOULD have stopped at 2:00 but it didn't. The second is it finally did stop after 40%. I'll have to try this again on another day. But it's working as expected right now SOC - 56% and waiting to charge at 10 AM.

Here are my personal thoughts, Your mileage and experiences may vary from mine.

I plug in with a lower state of charge then Ford Pass/FCSP/Truck seems to want to start charging immediately to reach my target charge of 90%. This is frustrating and I've seen this happen multiple times over the last year. I don’t know about others, but I have a electricity plan that will allow for lower cost charging between 10pm and 6am, so that is my set target start/stop. Appx 8 hours and my FCSP set to charge at 32A because of constraints with my electric panel.

Playing with the charge percent in the Ford Pass App last Wednesday and starting with a SOC of 32% This is what I found:
-- If I bring the target charge percent down to 60%, The system seems to honor my set times.
-- If I bring the target charge percentage to 70%. The system immediately starts charging.

MY GUESS, as a retired software engineer, is that the software (either truck and/or Ford Pass/FCSP) is calculating how long it thinks it will take to get to your target charge percent. If the calculated number of hours to get to target is greater than number of hours set in target charge time Then start charging immediately ELSE wait.

Should my guess how the software is working be how it works? Personally, I think NOT

Should the software worry about how long it will take? Personally, I think NOT

Should the software honor the hours set? Absolutely YES, which is what rubs us as customers the wrong way.

Is it a PITA to have to set and reset target charge percent over two nights to reach goal? YES

Did Ford ask me how I would do it? NO, but clearly we have to live with their decisions even if we disagree with them.

From what I've gathered over time on this forum, I believe i have seen mention that if the truck determines it can't reach the target SOC within the scheduled charge window, it will override the schedule and continue charging outside that window to get to what it deems necessary.

Not sure which i prefer. I recognize charging outside the window is frustrating, but it would probably be more frustrating to not have a properly charged truck.

The event control logic is in the truck.

Happens to me every time I get an update. The times are there but being ignored. Checksums don't add up. Delete them and re-enter. Works fine after that.

True, I wonder if the OP had a recent update?

I'll give resetting the times a shot and see what happens. Thanks for all the help.
