Rear Lights: Are they still recalling these even if not showing up on recall by VIN?

Afternoon All,

So last night driving home from dinner, i was pulled over by cop on the highway. The cop pulled me over, because he had no clue what was going on with my rear left light, but he had a safety concern so he pulled me over and just gave me a verbal to get it fixed.

He said my reverse (white light) kept randomly strobing on intermittently while i was driving. I pulled over at the next exit to take a look at it and saw water in the light, so i started to google which bulb i would need to replace the bulb possibly and come to find out these are LED lights. While i was googling i read that some had them replaced for free under Recall Number 23S30, but when i put my VIN in the lookup for recalls, it shows no active recalls open on my truck.

All 3 of my rear lights have water condensation in them. The left one is the worse of the 3.....

The one time I'd rather have a written warning, then I reinforce my concern that the defective lamp is needing repair ASAP and hopefully covered under my original or when the time comes my extended warranty (with lighting coverage)!!

You know, the picture isn't super clear, but it almost looks like there's a crack in that left hand tail light housing. If so, that'd explain the water ingress on that side.

Are you sure it was the tail light the officer saw? The tail light reverse lamp on the Lariat is covered by the tail gate when it is up and can't be seen. Was your tail gate down?

There are a lot of issues with water in the horizontal light bar on the tailgate. When it is up it is your reverse and third brake light. I'm guessing that is what he was seeing.

Here is one thread to check out, there are others.

That was my first thought as well. If the tailgate was up, no way the officer saw the backup light activating on the tail light. Has to be the lightbar.

Update, if anyone was curious, the dealership submitted to Ford for the left tail light and rear tail light bar and Ford authorized both replaced under the Safety recall since both were having the same issues. They found no visible exterior cracks outside of microcracks on the white/clear lens on both lights. There was condensation in both lights in the reverse white/clear lens area.
