Still. I don't think anyone wants randos being able to disconnect their cable, I'm disappointed it's taken this long to prevent that.
I saved a tourist $50 in idle fees when his charge session ended and I unplugged it.
I wouldn't ever leave my own truck blocking a dcfc though.
Now the j1772 connector I'm happy can be removed in case I'm done and someone else needs the cord.

Now this is a useful update! I hope I get it soon. Wonder why it won’t lock on AC charging?

For the record...my 2023 Lariat ER notified me this update (PT-25.8.5) was ready to install. I tried twice and it failed both time saying it was postponed due to the 12v battery low. So I put my Clore battery charger on the 12v and will see if that helps. Charger showed 38 percent when first connected...due to the two failed attempts??? The battery is three years old. I have an appointment at my dealer later this month to get one last once over for the truck before expiration of the base warranty. If my 12v is going bad then i hope to get a new one under warranty.

So no go for me. Charged the 12v to 100 percent and the update still failed. Left the Clore on PS 20A setting and it still failed. Not sure what that means. Probably need to see if I can get it to my dealer for a 12v check. When I reconnect the charger as a charger the reading goes from 100 percent before the attempted update and seems to be around 75 percent after the failure. Guessing the battery is on the way out.

My experience with my Clore is it will say it is 100% but the truck is showing something much lower (use CarScanner or Torque). I've been successful leaving it on a charger for a day or three; 4 hours is not enough.

I also notice the Clore will actually shut off when it thinks it's 100%. A true trickle charger/maintainer that outputs a constant float voltage (~13.6 V) is better.

I did the same as you for this update and it failed 4 times. Finally after leaving it on a 13.8V power supply for a day, it updated at 1:00am scheduled time. I also ran the truck for 6 hours (headlights, ac, radio off) to charge the battery a couple hours before the scheduled update.

Definitely have the dealer check also.

Try just leaving the truck on overnight. That should work if the battery isn’t complete toast. This has worked for me in the past.

12/12 free replacement of 12v battery, prorated after that. There might be a little bit of compensation left but don't expect much.

Thanks…that worked! Left the truck running overnight and was able to complete the update this morning. Radio presets were messed up and the tire pressures are blank. My range jumped up to 290 miles at 82 percent soc. I fixed my radio presets and suspect the range and tire pressure will normalize after the first drive. This is the PT-25.8.5 update

Check your update history here. https://www.ford.com/support/software-update-release-notes-history.
With the truck on you may have also received a SYNC update. That would reset your radio presets. The powertrain (PT) OTA would not affect the radio.

No Sync update…still on version 25094 revision 1779. Been on that for some time. The app showed my ppo outlets were on so went to the truck and did a Sync reboot. That seemed to fix the ppo status in the app and tire pressures are also back both in the truck and in the app. Not sure if my radio comment is correct. My impression is the AM and FM presets were off somehow. After the update all my presets for AM and FM only played static. I had to scan both in AM and FM to hear the broadcasts. And “resave” presets without static. SiriusXM presets were fine. Maybe the 12v battery low had some impact on the radio? I typically drive short distances and the truck will often sit for days. Probably does not give the 12v an opportunity to fully charge.

Mine did the same. Charge location and charge target were deleted. Plugged the truck in after the update. No charge target was displayed but the projected completion time made it obvious to me it was trying to get to 100 percent from 81 percent. Stopped the charge manually at 85 percent. Then I had to add the location and charge target from the charge screen in the truck after that session.
