Still. I don't think anyone wants randos being able to disconnect their cable, I'm disappointed it's taken this long to prevent that.

I saved a tourist $50 in idle fees when his charge session ended and I unplugged it.
I wouldn't ever leave my own truck blocking a dcfc though.
Now the j1772 connector I'm happy can be removed in case I'm done and someone else needs the cord.

If I recall correctly the locking mechanism is a part of CCS not the J1772 standard

Better late than never. You won't have to worry about someone stealing your adapter if using a NACS fast charger.
