2025 Ford Lightning Flash Job 2 😭
I kinda wonder if this means they're going to add the ability to have programmed departures have the ability to match the last run climate. Cool, medium, warm, off would be 2 bits, and adding last run would require a 3rd bit...

Hi folks,

Jumping in here because I know how annoying it is to hop in the truck and realize your charge settings have vanished. I grabbed some time with the engineering team to understand what has happened.

Here is the lowdown:

The powertrain update is doing some housekeeping behind the scenes to make your stored settings more resilient during future updates. The catch? The system can clear current settings in the process. I know it’s a hassle to set them back up (it’s definitely not my favorite hobby either), but the good news is that once you do the team has said that they shouldn't be affected by future updates.

The update is rolling out now to 2022/2023 trucks with a version for 2024s coming in the future.

Thanks for bearing with us!

- Brian (not AI) from Ford
I guess this update was a broken promise :brokenheart:
It was a good run for 2 years and 4 months.:crackup:

I got this last night finally after connecting the Battery Tender.

Truck is at 90% this morning, but used 5.9kWh of power between 1:13 and 2:19AM last night. No idea yet if presets or charging location is gone.

My earlier post about receiving this is incorrect. I received only the 25.8.5 version.

Looks like 2023's are getting 25.8.5
and 2022's are getting 25.13.12

Since this is a powertrain update, would make sense if the modules are slightly different between the year models. And likely why it hasn't rolled out to 2024+ yet.

Went to leave for work this morning and my set departure and cabin warm up did not go through. Then noticed it charged to 100% and got the notification that the update went through. 2023 Lariat ER. Lost all my saved charging settings and locations. Awesome!
I just installed this update and noticed it has wiped out my Saved Charging settings and location as well. And even though I’ve already completed a brief AC charging session I still see no option to create target charge location for my home :(

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had this happen. 100% for the first time ever I think on a 2023. I couldn't do anything with the APP..tried to delete the home charger and re-add but just got a SAVE FAILED error when I tried it. I had to go to the truck and I created a New Charger location not named HOME. and dropped it back to the 90% I keep it in the Winter. No notice of the Update going through at all though.

I got this update and it wiped everything. It charged to 100% and reset my door passcode etc.

Think I got most of it set back up but now I’m wondering what else I missed lol

Same problem here. It won’t let me set a target location even though I have completed a subsequent charge.
Any idea what we have to do or is my ‘23 Lightning forever set to charge to 100%?

Do a reset or 12v pull then try again

Hello @Ford Motor Company

I have a 2022 Lariat ER, 33K miles and love this truck.

I haven't received any updates in a really long time.

I have a brand new LVB (FoMoCo brand).
I plug in every night and updates are set to check daily at 1AM.
Typically I charge to 80% but set it to 85% or 90% occasionally.
I have tried changing all the update settings to different days, different times, etc.
I connect to home Wifi with strong signal.
I close all my windows.

I think my SYNC software is a step behind the current Version/Revision:

Ford F-150 Lightning Software Update PT-25.13.12 : Charge Port Functionality & Cold Weather Performance 1771603475032-po

One thing I noticed is that I don't seem to have a Sync MAC address despite being connected to my home Wifi...I don't know if that indicates anything or not:

Ford F-150 Lightning Software Update PT-25.13.12 : Charge Port Functionality & Cold Weather Performance 1771603558233-p3

I see other members in this forum with identical trucks to me (eg bmwhitetx) who apparently receive updates reliably and frequently.

I would really appreciate it if someone from Ford can explain to me how I can reconfigure settings, reset something, or take it to the dealer to fix something so that I can receive updates reliably.

Thanks in advance for any help or tips or guidance that you or Ford can provide :)

@ppmax5000 Sometimes you just have to wait. It sucks, I know. I waited almost a full year to start getting updates. I'm at 5 months since my last update so probably same sync version as you. There's nothing we or Brian ( not AI ) can do to speed the process along. The only other alternative is to buy the cable/power supply/FDRS license and do it yourself. Since the updates aren't ground breaking, I'm exercising my patience.

Back when 1.4 was available, I picked up a Mongoose cable but as I was deciding on a power supply I started getting updates. I kind of want to update just for the learning experience but the price increase for the FDRS license put the kibosh on that.

@Zprime29 thanks for reply. I have read similar advice given to others in my shoes...and I appreciate the additional information you provided.

I thought that sending a new request to Brian (not AI) who spoke to some Ford engineers about a question in this thread might be able to produce some new information from his sources.
