Took my first trip down to the Outer Banks in the Lightning and wanted to share how it went!
We left from around Annapolis at 85% SOC and stopped twice each way to charge. All DC fast charging was done at Tesla Superchargers using the Ford-provided NACS-to-CCS1 adapter, and it worked flawlessly. Arrived in Nags Head with SOC in the 30s.
The drive down late on a Sunday night through the Eastern Shore was smooth sailing. The return trip on Sunday afternoon (July 20th) up I-95 was predictably slow
.
Overall, the Lightning performed great—no issues whatsoever on the whole trip! Loved the Blue Cruise, when it was available.
