I wonder which harness it was. Would be nice to know the location in the frunk where this was taking place so others might check to see if they have the same potential issue. Glad they were able to find the issue sounds like a good tech was working on it.

They did mentioned opening the Frunk but I think it was per protocol to verify the error. It seems they went into the glovebox to find the disconnect.

You are blessed with a "GOOD" tech, he deserves a case of his favorite beverage.

Everyone focused on "broke down" but...what about the 'unexpectedly' part?

Are break downs ever 'expected?'

That has me gruntled!
Reminds me of the George Carlin bit about when people say that somebody died suddenly; "Everyone dies 'suddenly'--You're alive, you're alive, you're alive....You're dead."

BTW, I've never been "gruntled" but I have been "whelmed" :)

Yep, I fully expect mine to break down the 3rd Wednesday in December 2028 so I just won't drive it that day. 😁

I suggest booking your service appointment now because Christmas that year is on the following Monday and the service dept will probably be closed from Saturday til Tuesday. You might also consider reserving a rental car now since parts will likely take a while to arrive due to the holidays and rental cars may be scarce too 🤔

Yep! That could have been a huge rabbit hole. That tech was on his game.

I will suggest, too, that 'broke down' is not a term to use in this situation, even though you may 'feel' that way, at the moment...

'broke down' might refer to old school vehicles that had a major engine or transmission failure, and, therefore, could not 'move', and had to be towed...

You have stated that you COULD drive the truck, so, therefore, 'broke down' is certainly not applicable, as your thread Headline states...

"...the Lightning told me to pull over immediately ..."
"... I was able to turn the truck back on and drive it for a few minutes..."
"... but then it would give out..."

Being low on battery power, also, is not being 'broke down'
Having multiple alerts or messages is not being 'broke down'
Bringing your truck to a stop, yourself, when a message or alert seems to indicate, is also not being 'broke down'
We also have no idea what "...it would give out" means.

frustrating? yes.
Driver error? maybe.

In these situations, you have to realize that this is a big computer... if it is driving, moving, and otherwise in motion.... CONTINUE moving forward: stopping does nothing.
Shut up

Look around and tell me that there are vehicles on the road that are so clearly jacked up that they're not going to die on the spot at any given moment.

No problem, I can use my other truck or motorcycle if no rental available. Call me Mr. redundant. I have a backup plan for just about everything. :alien:

Thanks for sharing. Shout out to that tech for great notes (each color wire identified)...I hope that is a permanent fix for you. Nerd in me: I'd like to see a pic of that exact bracket/connector to peek at.
Yea it would have been cool to get pics of the inside and what was fixed.
