So I go to Georgia and Florida from my home in CA for 6 weeks. In preparation I leave my Lightning at 80% (yes, should have run it down to 50% but didn't have time) and set my 120v level one charger at 50% so, if somehow it drops it will never get below 50% as it would start charging again. Additionally I put an AGM trickle charger on the 12v battery downstream of the module as recommended. Well, 4 weeks into my trip, just for fun I open my FordPass app and get this "Vehicle in Battery Saver Mode" Please drive your vehicle to refresh status and remote features (see photo). I thought this only would come up if the 12v battery needed charging....being on a trickle charger should prevent this problem....right? Again, this 12v battery continues to be a real weak point in our trucks. Why can't the truck just recharge its 12v battery when necessary from the HVB when needed? Suggestions?

Your 12v LVB is probably fine, most likely the 14 day lack of use condition sent it to sleep mode.

When you get home, start the truck all should be fine.

You could probably use the app to turn on your climate control and run some of that battery down closer to 50%… you would have to do it many days/times but that might also solve both issues??

Per the manual, disconnect the the 12V battery when storing for longer than 30 days.

Thanks all.
First, I can't turn on anything via the app as suggested...it's in deep sleep.
But I don't know why it would go into deep sleep when both batteries are at full charge. It seems to me that deep sleep would be triggered more to battery voltage.
And I haven't seen anything in the manual about disconnecting the 12v battery when leaving the truck for 2 weeks. This seems like some strange software. I've never had to worry about this with my Tesla.

Long term is considered 30+ days.

OK, thanks....you're correct indeed. However, it's strange that the deep sleep started after just 2 weeks and, what the heck, we're "trying to reduce the loads on the HVB?" What loads? The LVB is fully charged and on trickle charge and the HVB is at 80% and plugged into a level 1 charger set to automatically charge the HVB if, somehow, its level drops below 50%. It seems odd that the app essentially locks me out under these conditions. Shouldn't the software be looking at actual voltages and conditions? Shouldn't the system just auto charge the LVB if necessary, but always save, say 20% of the HVB if conditions are extreme? I've never seen such a system where you need to disconnect the battery, and/or put it on a charger. I mean, if your LVB goes dead, you're dead in the water anyway....regardless of what the HVB is doing. JUST CHARGE THE LVB IF IT NEEDS IT! This shouldn't be so complicated. Sorry....I'm just used to better software.

If you’d have left the thing alone instead of hooking up all that chit to it, it likely would have been fine. I’ve parked at the airport for 2 weeks and was able to remote start from my phone when I landed.

The last update I received was concerning protection of the 12v battery. I have experienced 12v problems with KIA and Nissan as well. But I agree, the software should handle the situation.

Ford's go into deep sleep mode after 14 days of no use. Nothing to do with your battery levels.

^^^. This!

My rarely driven 2024 F-450 always goes into deep sleep after a few weeks parked. It has 2 huge 12 volt batteries.
