What's sad is this is a 5min update at the dealer if you could find one that wouldn't charge an arm and a leg. Had the dealer update the BCM on mine a year ago while in for the battery sensor recall@Ford Motor Company Still waiting….Wheres that update Brian not AI!
Unfortunately that only provides half of it. I have WAL but the truck honks every time and I don't have the toggle to disable the honk. That's a different update. What's sad is this is a 5min update at the dealer if you could find one that wouldn't charge an arm and a leg. Yep. Still need to learn FORScanobd dongle and FORScan takes care of that in about 2 minutes and most of that is walking to the truck.![]()
Yeah, if the manufacturers wouldn't have locked the regular folks out of the BCM I would have this by now too. What's sad is this is a 5min update at the dealer if you could find one that wouldn't charge an arm and a leg. not sure what it updated.Nice....lol...I would think going on 2 months now should be enough time to update all the 22's and 23's that were announced with this. I mean hell at this point with OTA updates and all the new vehicles coming out every year, if Ford can't handle what they already have, how in the world are they going to handle more vehicles that they update?Just got the apim update for the toggles a second time and people haven't even gotten it oncenot sure what it updated.
And you would think that two and a half years after the announcement would be long enough for all Lightnings to have Tesla Superchargers in their navigation. But nooooo.Nice....lol...I would think going on 2 months now should be enough time to update all the 22's and 23's that were announced with this. I know that's right. That's why I let mine expire. Maybe if they give us the update I will subscribe and try it out, but I surely wont until then. And you would think that two and a half years after the announcement would be long enough for all Lightnings to have Tesla Superchargers in their navigation. If you can get the ear of the bosses tell them they really need to change the way WAL works. Right now it seems to be based on proximity to the truck. It really needs to be like GM has it set up. Just a simple 10 sec timer. Once the last door is closed 10 sec later it locks. Our trucks sometimes it locks right after you close the door and you’re next to the truck. Other times I can walk a football field away and the truck never locks. It needs to be consistent for it to be reliable. Thanks. I keep recording that and some other things on the record feedback feature but of course I have no idea if anybody is actually listening to those. lol.Jumping in to clear up some confusion regarding the update mentioned.
If you own a 2022 or 2023 F-150 Lightning, we recently pushed out a software update to enable the Walk Away Lock feature. However, if you do NOT have a BlueCruise-equipped vehicle, you may not be seeing a toggle to control it on your in-vehicle screen.
While I know this is frustrating for those of you experiencing this, I have some good news! There is an update being pushed out which will enable the Walk Away Lock toggle on your in-vehicle screen.
It is important to note that this software update happens in the background, which means you will NOT get a notification on your in-vehicle screen or in the Ford app letting you know an update was installed.
Additionally, you may need to turn your vehicle ON/OFF one or two times for the screen to refresh.
Keep an eye out on your Settings menu – the toggle should appear soon!
