Walk Away Lock is Rolling Out to 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning

Hi F-150 Lightning owners, as many of you have already noted here in the forum, Walk Away Lock is in the process of rolling out via an over-the-air software update to 2022-2023 model year vehicles.

This feature will allow you to seamlessly walk away from your vehicle and know it is safely locking behind you, utilizing your phone as a key.

If your truck is equipped with keyless entry, this gives you a new way to secure your doors. To enable the Walk Away Lock feature, go to the Locking menu within Vehicle Settings on your touchscreen panel. More detailed instructions and information on the feature here.

Got my update & am loving it.
I also really like how FordPass also lets me know that it’s locked. Was always worried with my Civic, as to whether or not it actually locked.

Got that update some time ago, more than a month or two ago. It works. A bit annoying at first because I lock my truck anyways, but it is another reminder that the truck is locked.

my truck was updated on 7/13/25
but it does not show up in the locking menu within vehicle settings. so if i really have the update i can't use it

This is not the release that Brian mentioned above (even though these release notes do mention Walk-Away Lock). The newest release rolling out now will mention toggles for Walk-Away Lock in the release notes text. So your truck has yet to receive the latest Walk-Away Lock update.
