I’m not that far away, but paying triple your evening rate and more than double your daytime rate. Here is a screenshot of my Eversource bill. My usage went up significantly this summer over last before I bought an EV, but I can‘t figure out why. I upgraded the two window AC units from 20 year old ones to new energy star ones, replaced my fridge and chest freezer with new units, and my wife doesn’t work from home like she did in 2021 (she was running another window AC all day).

Here is our summary since moving into this house in October 2020. The August 2021 782 kWh was when my brother was here for a few weeks with his RV, his power monitor said he used 160 kWh in the time he was here. This August we we were at 886 kWh with less AC use. Now the September bill, 941 kWh compared to 633 kWh last year? Seems like something is wrong. One of my neighbors and I were talking, he noticed a similar trend on his bill with no changes in the house.

In western MA I am paying .30 per kWh (total bill divided by kWh used). The breakdown on that is:

.12 generation
.14 distribution
.04 GreenUp (100% renewable)

I have the same deal where I am, Constellation charges 0.10/kWh for electricity and NG tacks on 0.15/kWh for distribution and other "stuff". So, is the 0.10/kWh from Constellation "locked in"?
Yes, but duration depends on the terms your local community service agreement specifies.

That is an amazing low cost for electricity! I sold back 4500 kWh to my local utility last year and they paid me 4.2 cents per kWh which was the wholesale rate for PJM here on the east coast last year. I do pay the monthly $4.92 customer charge but still get a check each year so far. With two electric vehicles I'll use more. My XLT is averaging 2.7 miles per kWh so far so my cost per mile is about 1.6 cents. Ioniq 5 averages 4.2 miles per kWh so just a penny per mile.

We actually don't have very many. Mining requires you to be on a different rate schedule, which is less favorable. And it's actually pretty easy to detect mining just from meter reads.

Yeah, I think it’s changed somewhat. I’m on an electrical contractors forum where a couple guys in Washington state were wiring up miners there. They haven’t mentioned doing any lately. I suspect that even at the higher commercial rates, Washington is still very competitive.

I wished we had on/off peak pricing. We do have tiered pricing but lower cost tiers 1-3 are hit by the end of the 1st week in the billing cycle. So in reality our tier 4 cost of $0.21 cents per kWh is what we actually pay to charge.

If National Grid puts that 64% increase through then I'll probably be DCFCing a lot more. I'm curious if EA will increase their DCFC rates. At the moment I'm paying 10-15 cents/kWh at EA (per minute charging in MA) and my home rate is 25 cents. If the home rate goes to 41 cents I'd be saving nearly $40 per "tank" by using DCFC. Most of my charging would still be at work, which is free.

I thought EA was 42 / 31 cents per kWh everywhere. Per minute is saving you a ton of money. My last big EA charge was 92 kWh @ 31 cents for a total of $28.52 over 41 minutes. It would have been like $13 if I had your option
