There are currently 256 electric F150 Lightnings listed on AutoTrader. Many of these F150L are just place holders required under state laws but it looks like some dealers are trying to make so much money off of their mannequins that they can pay the $25k fine and still make a big profit. One F150L is going for $145k and the ad doesn’t even say what trim level it is.

There is a used F150L Lariat going for $105k so I guess the guy just couldn’t resist flipping his brand-new Lightning. Not only is that a $25k profit if the owner paid MSRP but he will still get the $7.5k tax credit. It makes me feel a little better about having to wait another year to get my Lightning hoping that maybe some of this insanity will subside before I have to negotiate with my dealer.

So frustrating. I wish I could combine my favorite aspects of the Rivian with the Lightning.

If I could have a Lightning with the interior and direct sales model used by Rivian, I'd have the perfect truck. Dealer shenanigans are for the birds.

Looks like its just stock images, so he hasn't actually taken delivery of it yet.

TBH, I think Ford is moving in that direction with the Split that we see with Model-E. Dealerships are a big drag on manufacturers now with the EV changes. However, the existing laws make it really hard for the Manufacturers to break out into a Tesla/Rivian style delivery.

I am sure it will happen, but the dealerships will fight this for a long time. Gotta love outdated laws.

Some dealers do it so people won’t contact them at all.

People aren’t patient enough to wait 3-4 months for a car or are in need of a car NOW due to circumstances out of their control. Dealers will be around for a while no matter what.

Wow, already started craziness !

Guess I should think about flipping my Lariat and make a tidy profit to fund my MME also on order....

Don't know if I can keep the tax credit if I flip it though...

Impossible, TITLE would never have been issued in this tight of a timeline if it were even true.
