Expedite Charge Station Pro Delivery

Just picked up an off-the-lot F150 Lariat ER last week. I've spent a few days navigating the logistics of receiving the accompanying Charge Station Pro. The extent of the info provided by the dealer was "it will be sent to you". After a few chats with Ford CS and Sunrun, I've gathered that the dealer must first "mark the vehicle as sold". Within 5 days of this Sunrun will be notified and will then ship the charger within an additional 5 days. I've reached out to the dealer to ask that they mark the vehicle as sold ASAP, and got the ambiguous, "we'll see what we can do" response.

Question for the group is - do these timelines seem realistic? Anything I can do to speed up the process? I'm currently charging at 6 kWh...

I was going to say that you could fill out your address here so that they have it when they are ready to ship, but I doubt you have an order number since you bought it off the lot.

You're doing better than I was. I only had level 1 charging available and had to visit the local DCFC to top up several weeks. Took 7 weeks of pestering the dealer before they finally sent SunRun a letter to just send it. Never got an email and every time I called them, SunRun would claim that it was escalated and that a rep would get back to me. Never got a call back either.

I sent an email to my sales rep every day for 3-4 weeks on updates. Finally added in the general sales manager and then started getting somewhere. Stay on 'em, light a fire.

Since it’s triggered by the dealer marking it “sold” it really shouldn’t matter. I ordered mine.

It was build-and-order and it sat in Limbo for two months over the fire issue.

I would hammer call them until you get it. I bought my truck in December and cannot get them to ship the thing.

The dealers description of the timeline is accurate and many of us, myself included got our in similar fashion, there are outliers though and hopefully you won't be joining that list. Congrats on your new Lightning and enjoy.

Mine arrived exactly one week after my purchase. It was a pleasant surprise after my dealer told me that it could be a month or more. My Lightning was built to order and part of the transit hold.

It should be noted that I did pay cash for my Lightning. If the delivery of the hardware is dependent upon the vehicle being “sold”, I could see how it would take longer in financing scenario. When you finance through a dealer, you may drive the vehicle off the lot that day, but the financing transaction itself can take a couple of weeks to actually complete. During this time, it is possible, albeit rare, for it to fall through. If Sunrun is waiting for a “sold” status, it’s not going to be “sold” until that work is complete.

Hmm, I also paid cash but apparently they didn't mark it sold in a timely manner, then a recall was issued further delaying things to the point where it's still not marked sold. TaxmanHog said this was a less common situation, so hopefully they get it soon.

With getting my charger shipped it was a bit of a hassle. The dealership never was able to report the truck as sold to me. Ford thought that I needed to take delivery of the truck that I ordered. I got it escalated at Ford and they over road the system to get my charger shipped to me. Part of the issue was that the dealership was shown as the first owner. But in the end it got resolved. Just took a manager and cooperation between Sunrun and Ford. Miracles do happen.

I purchased mine off the lot on 4/17 and paid cash.
Having read these forums first, I did make sure to educate the dealer on the process and ask them to mark it as sold.
I called Sunrun yesterday and they received the notice that it was sold on 4/22 and said that it should be shipping out soon and should be received within 5-7 days.
They didn't have my email address on file and weren't able to provide a tracking number. If I don't see something in the next couple days, I'll call again and ask for it.
I want to know when it's coming so that I can schedule the install ahead of time.

My experience was similar. Picked up the truck and the charger arrived about 10 days later. I already had a 40A charger installed for my wife's car so the wait wasn't tedious for me. Charging on Level 1 is painful on a Mach-E let alone a Lightning.
