Ford Dealers, Can I buy a HVB Battery From You?

For all forum members that work at Ford dealerships, can I purchase a battery from you? While I have already benchmarked the truck (see https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/lightning-and-identity-theft.12185/post-265890) and I'm now testing the cells from an extended range pack (module construction presented some unique challenges) I have a client that is looking to use for additional testing.

Phone calls to the Parts department usually end with a dropped call or no call backs

Sounds like an interesting road trip. Anybody know the dimensions of the battery pack? Will it fit in the bed, and will the Lightning have the payload for it?

Estimating by the weight difference between the ICE and ER, it's only about a ton. Plenty of payload capacity for it. If anyone knew the dimensions on this board I would think you would, but going off of various images of the frame and battery, it looks like it fits just within the 4 wheels, so I think it'll fit with the tailgate down, but maybe stick out far enough to need a red flag. I'd definitely want some heavy duty straps on it. Probably safest to have it on a flatbed trailer though. Pretty low profile load, probably won't even tear your range down too far.

That is a steal! Even if you repurposed it for a whole house backup. Server rack LFP is running about $1500 per 5 kWh.

Since it installs between the frame rails, I’d say yes, it fits in the bed width-wise. There are ways to handle a little extra length, if necessary.

It certainly is a steal considering I just got a quote for a new ER. $46,632 and change

But is the battery a used or reconditioned battery or one taken out of a totaled Lightning?

When I go to Car.part.com, I find it's not a real business per se. Just an aggregator providing links to other sites and it's not even a secure website (doesn't do https://). Oops! Went to car.part.com, not Car-Part.com. My Bad!

Hokay! @Pioneer74's post left out the legend key to part grading. It's a "grade A" part. Here's what that means, i.e., it's a used battery with less than 60K miles of use or ..., if you go to the referenced supplier in the link provided by Car-Part.com.

It’s way too soon for reconditioned Lightning battery packs to be available. Here is a link to Ford Lightning battery parts. The extended range pack goes for $47k but can also buy individual modules.

If you really want a Lightning battery pack your best bet would probably be just to buy a wreckedLightning.
