you are highlighting the new 'issues' with Electric vehicles, Software, Motors, and the like that come with our great machines - but, they can be a mess of wiring and electronic potential issues when damaged, even if we 'think' it's no big damages to sensitive parts...... it will be 6 weeks without any fixes; the insurance company will not total it yet since it is 3 months old; ..... don’t know how far they will go but this crazy.
but, yes, you are also highlighting how your insurance works. A claim does not demand immediate final solution, as there are MANY steps and processes and checks and testing, FOR SURE, before they repair, replace, or hand this machine back over to you. You can appreciate that. Yes, it takes longer than we wish, but, in the light of life, it's really a short journey - it's just annoying.
Let your Insurance Company's processes work through. You are MUCH better off, especially financially, if they DO NOT Total your vehicle. You will NEVER get the amount you think it's worth, you have to then turn around and FIND a replacement vehicle, and you'll now CERTAINLY have to pay, and maybe a LOT, to get anything near what you just 'lost'...
You can blame the authorities for jumping to conclusions on 'needing' to cut the cord so quickly, and maybe they were, but, if that had resulted in more unknown damages, or safety issues, otherwise, you'd be in a worse position.
You'll also encounter the unfortunate situation where techs, even FORD trained techs, have never seen these things before. They will be learning at the same time. Ford tries to have parts available, and even after-market availability, but, yes, some parts like electronics and electrical-related devices are slow to everyone, if available at all. Software is also a very technical trade, even with 'instructions' from the mother ship...
keep the Patience... you'll eventually be rewarded, and this annoyance will fade.
