Agree. Anybody who pulls into a residential garage at the end of the day and connects the charger appreciates the front fender placement too. I don't know that passenger side would be better, but front placement is definitely far better.
Driver-side connection is best for home charging convenience. The Lightning front position works out perfect for me. But the Tesla back driver corner would have been just as convenient in terms of plugging in when exiting the vehicle in my garage - I would have just wired my charger on that side of the garage, instead.

Passenger side seems like the wrong choice in almost all scenarios.
As does front center like the E-Transit.

Front passenger is perfect for public chargers and superchargers, but I agree that front driver is best for home.

None of this would matter as much if public chargers were pull through like gas stations lol

Tesla chargers are setup for the vehicle to back in to the charger (pun intended).

I just saw a video from last month where Farley was quoted as saying "We're not going to be investing much in $50k and $60k SUVs, etc. We're going affordable and commercial." This was in response to a question about why Ford has been backing off of EV tech. He said something to the effect of "we saw what happened in the first inning with EVs".

It sounds like he wants to focus more on hybrid tech and possibly small, cheap EVs.

Note that T3 is now dead.

From today's announcement:
To be transparent, that means that we will end production of the current generation F-150 Lightning at the end of this year. We will prioritize multi-energy powertrains for our large SUVs, trucks and vans, and have also made the decision to no longer produce the next-generation full-size electric truck, also known as “T3”.
