I obviously don't know the logic behind what they're doing (intent) or why (technicalities) but the way it works on my truck is that on remote start, it uses whatever settings are set in the app. On powering the truck, it resumes whatever was set at power off.

Example: At power off the settings are 72F, Heated steering wheel off, and Heated seats on auto

In the app currently with the weather, I have temp set to max, heated steering wheel on and heated seats to max

When the weather is cold, this is actually a perfect scenario because it can deice the windshield before I enter and set a comfortable temp on drive.

I suspect the reason for this is technical, since the Sync system isn't booted until you start the truck, another module must be in control of those systems. Once Sync boots, it changes those module settings to the settings that were in play at power down. Is it similar on yours or what? It may be a difference between the 12" vs 15"
The distinction is my 2022 vs your new & improved programming in your 2025 might be working, mine isn't!

Ford knows of several defective logic controls in the 2022's and STILL have not fixed them.

I've also tinkered with "Automatic" vs "Last Used" settings in Sync, it is still as schizophrenic as ever, never stays where I left it and the App does nothing with my desires.

I have the 15" Sync screen

I like the shortcut button. Just wish the climate controls were more intelligent. Should not have to follow last settings. But should know that it is hot/warm/cool/cold/freaking cold outside and then set the HVAC/seats/steering wheel accordingly.

But as an aside, it allows me to close the Ford app. That way it does not wake up the truck every time I walk within BT range, which where my truck is parked is pretty often. Now it is a simple touch on my Home Screen to get the truck warming up.

I've done every iteration of use of the Ford App controls, Sync settings, departure timer and remote climate start, never operates consistently with regard to customizing the heat level or steering wheel controls, when I get out to the truck and press the start button, the Sync screen will show the steering wheel warmer off, but to the touch it was on and had up to that pointed warmed the wheel, what I'd like is for it to STAY ON!!! come on @Ford Motor Company get this right after 3 years!

I'm have the same issue. If my remote climate start actually works....when I get in the truck, the heated steering wheel is off when I start the truck. Though it is warm like it was on.

Also, the seated heats have not been working on remote start. They are still ice cold when I get in 10 minutes later even though the app and truck both show they were on. They don't start to warm up until I actually start driving.

I have noticed similar behavior so what I got in the habit of doing is using the app, wait for it to show running, then extend the remote start after making sure climate temp, wheel and/or seat are on/off. It's been consistently working that way for a few weeks now that I've been doing it.

The climate app works fine with my 25 Flash. FYI. It's when I get in and start it up is when my issues with the climate system start.

Thanks for stopping in on your coffee breaks Brian. Too bad the slave drivers you work for don't allow you to have very many. :) Keep up the good work.

Still gotta have Ford, an American company, stay ahead of the others and especially Chevy and those tin can Chryslers. A year ago Ford stock was at $9.26. Yesterday it closed at $13.80 which is a 49.03% increase. Which begs the question, why didn't you stop by a year ago and give us all a quick stock tip about what you are doing? Gain from a 150 grand worth of stock would have bot another truck.

Mine is borked still. 23 Lariat. Then again, almost nothing digitally controlled in the truck works the same way from one day to another. Its always a surprise.

The idiotic battery saver started rearing its ugly head about a week and a half ago. 12V is fine. Just another awful control software mistake made by Ford. I just don't know what they are thinking about in their product feature planning meetings.

And Fordpass.. well 1 step forward, 3 steps backwards most days.

For whatever reason, our Mach E is pretty well behaved in the software controlled systems space... the Lightning, just sucks. Constant bugs, things disappearing, things not working, random behaviors on every alternate thursday afternoon when venus is aligned with mars....

At my wits end with it... Gonna bail on the Lightning as soon as something moderately interesting appears. Wonderful idea, solid mechanical execution, awful software, dreadful winter range. But the best damn ski car ever made... pity

Taking cues from your M/O, I did the same.

When the truck is started with a Departure Timed event, I bring up the detail switches and temperature pane, then tap the EXTEND button, that ensures my preferences, heated wheel on and seats on level one are active when I get into the truck and Press to Start the truck, these settings are as requested.

When I use the Climate Start button in Ford App, then later send the Extend command, the preferences are NOT transmitted to the truck, when I get in the seats are on level 3 and the steering wheel heat switch is off at Press to Start.

I thought I was insane and this only happened to me...but I guess it's a common thing!

also, when the climate control on the app works to condition the interior of the truck, the passenger seats do not come on for some reason.

Same, what I and my wife have noticed, is the seat will get warmed / cooled depending on the season.

The problem is she needs to wait for me to pull around to the side of the house so that she can enter, we have a very tight garage, not enough room for her to swing open the door and enter before I press the Start button.

When she jumps in the seats are warm, but the switch on the Sync screen is off, I attribute this to the fact the system did not detect her in the seat when I started the truck.

If I remote start the truck , say in a parking lot or our driveway, then we both jump in and get settled & buckle, and I push the start button, it's a 50/50 chance that her seat conditioning status will be accurate.

If I don't use remote climate or departure timed events, just jump in, buckle up and press the start button, most of the time it accurately brings up the last used status or automatically switches from warming on cold morning to cooling in the afternoon when the spring/summer/early fall heat builds up in the cabin.

I wonder what it would do if you used the remote climate and/or departure timed start to warm everything up and then shut everything off remotely just before getting in and pressing the start button to see what it brings up?

I'll give that a try today.
