Do we have an Amazon source for the timers being used? Also is there some other electronic device on the market that would pull 100-300 watts that would be safer than a heater or light bulb?
I like the idea of powering the dash cams for theft purposes such as with ppob but I wouldn't want to leave the truck on all night at a motel with a lit dash and calm screen even if I covered them. Best choice is just to take the chances of not running down the 12v battery even though it doesn't pull that much power. I'm still looking for a 360 degree dashcam system that isn't that expensive. Adding a recorder to the trucks cameras would be nice if they could be used.
What’s the concern with the car being left on if it’s locked and no key or phone inside? If someone tries to break in and tried to drive off, it ain’t going anywhere without a key. It’ll shutoff.

Never tried it with the truck, but with the prius, once running, I can drive it anywhere without a key until I shut it off and then it won't start again. I'd be worried about one of those key cloning theft rings may be operating in the area.
Got a trip planned to Denver next month and I sure wouldn't want to have to make a police report for auto theft saying I left it running outside the motel all night!!! Plan to stop and eat at Casa Bonita there in a now not so nice area of town. I don't even know if Denver has any safe areas of town anymore. Not to worried about Vail though.
