I was backing out of my driveway and as I went from R to D a warning came on the screen that I can't remember, but had the message in the screenshot from the Ford app. The orange wrench came on my instrument cluster. I couldn't go more than 2 or 3 MPH. Stopped, turned off, restarted and the wrench stayed on, and I had a warning about one pedal drive not available and to use the brakes to stop. I was able to drive normally other than that. My wife called the dealer and got me an apt for this Friday. I was terrified as I'm used to ICE and am relatively handy with them, but I had no clue what to do. After I finished with career day at the local HS, I got back in my truck and plugged in my OBD dongle. Had a bunch of archived codes, and unimportant things like seatbelt and radio as I recall, but nothing about the malfunction. It was then that I realized the orange wrench was gone. One pedal drive was fine. Everything was back to normal. The only thing I can think of was that I was in neutral still rolling backwards when I switched to drive. It wasn't anything fast, and something I've always done to an extent. Any ideas? Should I keep the appt? Maybe get the park/shifter recall done as well.

I seem to recall something similar happening in the past. I'd have to take some time to dig through the search to find the thread. In general, I *think* it was a false alarm due to shifting while still rolling. Since that thread, I've always tried to make sure I come to a stop before shifting from R to D.

I think it was November. I thought I saw it in the Ford app but I can't find it. I got this picture of the software update screen.

Thanks for the information, that's long enough ago that it's not likely the root cause of your current situation.

I had a similar issue yesterday after the PT-25.13.12 failed to install. Only 57% of power was available. No other driving issues.

The upgrade installed last night and the service soon went away.

There have been a ton of posts around reduced power/power train malfunction. I had two of them in the past three months and both were resolved at the dealer by a Long charge of the 12 V battery. I now drive with a spare 12 V in my truck bed. Itโ€™s possible yours is related to the gearshift, but that warning Comes on with multiple alerts IMO.. good luck.

When it initially happened it was like 3 or more alerts that were all on the cluster display. Plus the wrench icon. It was OPD issue, reduced power, and a service vehicle immediately. My power was nothing. Not %57 or any % I put my foot down and it kept slowing from 3, to 2, to 0 MPH. From that link I shared above, it's gotta be the same thing. No CEL or other lights remain on. No codes stored other than archived, irrelevant codes. Was drivable after I shut it down and started again. Then all warnings etc were completely gone after shut down and sitting for a bit over an hour. That 2nd startup EVERYTHING was back to normal. What update is PT-25.13.12?

I did recently (3 or 4 days earlier) change the 12v battery and did a BMS reset (high beam and brake combo). Also found my most recent software updates.
