I was backing out of my driveway and as I went from R to D a warning came on the screen that I can't remember, but had the message in the screenshot from the Ford app. The orange wrench came on my instrument cluster. I couldn't go more than 2 or 3 MPH. Stopped, turned off, restarted and the wrench stayed on, and I had a warning about one pedal drive not available and to use the brakes to stop. I was able to drive normally other than that. My wife called the dealer and got me an apt for this Friday. I was terrified as I'm used to ICE and am relatively handy with them, but I had no clue what to do. After I finished with career day at the local HS, I got back in my truck and plugged in my OBD dongle. Had a bunch of archived codes, and unimportant things like seatbelt and radio as I recall, but nothing about the malfunction. It was then that I realized the orange wrench was gone. One pedal drive was fine. Everything was back to normal. The only thing I can think of was that I was in neutral still rolling backwards when I switched to drive. It wasn't anything fast, and something I've always done to an extent. Any ideas? Should I keep the appt? Maybe get the park/shifter recall done as well.
