My dassh screen changed after an OTA update, and I don't understand what info it's trying to tell me. Please help me understand. I've included before and after pictures of my display from different time periods. I marked up the areas that changed. The "166" number stays the same.

I was wondering if I was sent the wrong update. It appears to me it could be for charging while driving.

Could it be you have nav set and that's how far it is to the next charger? Going to look at mine now, never seen that before.

Looks like it's miles to destination. It didn't pop up like that on mine until I set a route.

Yeah it's miles to destination. It's yellow cause it's further than your battery state.

If you don't have a destination it will go away. It could be Ford nav, Android Auto or car play...

Thanks. I didn't think I set a destination. Maybe I did? I'll go into navigation and try to see if I set a destination. Is there an easy way to clear all destinations?

My last few updates have done the same thing. Set a destination and turned on routing. Took me a minute to figure out what was going on.

Yep, Ford Nav. It is showing distance to the first charge stop. The color indicates you do not have enough predicted range to get there. I typically use CarPlay and it shows different symbology than the Ford Nav.

As others have said, it's miles to destination. I do A LOT of long distance travel, but don't ever use the Ford NAV because I hate the juvenile UI and generally think the Ford software sucks (to be clear, it is pretty much the only thing about my Lightning that I don't love). I do all my road trip navigation in Apple Maps/CarPlay and am occasionally amused when the truck says it doesn't have enough range to get to the nearest charger, but Apple Maps/CarPlay says everything is fine. Factoid: In 70K miles in my Lightning, including 19 road trips of at least 1500 miles each (most in the wide open West), I've never run out of juice.

Agreed. I tried to use the Ford navigation a couple weeks ago solely for the purpose of preconditioning the battery and it cannot even see any recently installed chargers. Super super antiquated. Not even worth the effort.

The pre-conditioning probably isn't happening, unless you're in a warm area, then maybe the chilling cycle may be working, but all 2022 Lightnings can't pre-warm in frigid conditions.

Interesting, I had never heard that before. Either way that charger navigation native to the truck is terrible.

Thanks for helping me understand what the changes in my range display means.

Using your suggestions, I was able to use the Menu controls on the steering wheel to move to the Main Menu and select Navigation, and then cancel the set destination.

Now my dash display is back to the way it used to look for displaying the battery range. Thanks to all who helped me with informative comments.

This forum is so handy for solving issues like this one.
