Interesting, after I set my appointment for the same service {24B56} got a text confirm my appointment drop off date, they also advised me I had a "RECALL" that might need attention while I was in for service?!

I think they didn't realize that the service was for the CSP-24B56, unless there are hidden recalls or if the service associate is confused about terminology?

If they need more time next Thursday, no problem, spring is in the air an my butt is mostly on the Road Glide now, take as much time as you need.
Thats what happened to me as well. I asked the service manager... "are you sure you don't mean CSP?" and he said "no, its a recall." I didn't see any recalls from Ford, or my app. However I already had the FHCM flashed already due to a OTA update. So this could be a mute point since I already had the OTA unless he wants to flash it again for giggles.

On a different note... it would appear the tech has not hooked a charger to the battery, but has just left the truck on. It been over an hour, and unless the tech did it accidentally, I can't think of any reason why the truck would be left on.

He probably hasn't done anything. Most of the updates aside from the gwm, apim, tcu and maybe the IPC require the truck to be in accessory mode.

I had this happen to me too. Apparently the mysterious “recall” was some kind of fix for the frunk in some way. I never learned what exactly.

Well, my truck is back and it unfortunately has small display syndrome now. I even told the service advisor to make sure, and his response was that they always read the instructions.

Now I need to go back in the AM to get it taken care of. Why are the 22s so different that it needs that extra step?

I can also confirm the really odd steering behavior, but I just hope it clears up in the next few weeks.

Yep. When I had this done I begged and pleaded them to make sure the power supply was hooked up correctly. The update did complete but my 12V was in the 30% range afterwards so I have my doubts they did.

The SA just puts vague instructions on the order and rarely passes along "special requests" like this.

That's why I try to do mobile service if possible. There you get to talk to the tech directly. When I had this done, he didn't do the camera config, so I showed him the instructions "I got off the Internet".

He said those were smart people on the Internet who knew to do those things - not realizing they were the same instructions he was supposed to look at!

EDIT: You can fix it in FORScan if you don't want to mess with the dealer.

I could do it, but I need to get my test drive done too (auto show incentive). They don’t have Mach-Es in stock so I might try an Expedition Active.

I’ve had fantastic results by writing a short explanation of my concerns, putting it in an envelope along with a twenty (or two or three) and writing “For my Ford Tech” on it. Tiny price to pay for exceptional care.
Donuts work, too

Any chance someone can please send me the BC1.4 changes for Forscan. I had the IPMA update done and would like to activate it fully.

Thanks!

My 2022 Lightning is going in for the CSP-24b56 Thursday morning, maybe more magic will happen to my truck than just this update. Hopefully the Technician is thorough with the procedure.

Happy software Thursday eve.

Mine's due to go in on Monday for this CSP and the control arm recall. First time taking my truck in for service and I don't have a lot of faith in my dealer's abilities when it comes to EVs. Do you all recommend bringing in some documentation or giving them additional information? I don't want to tell them how to do their job but I also want to avoid any issues that can be easily prevented...
