OP said it's a Lariat, which I think still gets the 131kwh battery?

I think his issue isn't that the range in the '25 is any different. I think it's just that the range estimate is being calculated differently. The new truck may say it only has 285 miles of range, but he may get the same range as his '23 if tested side by side and driven until the battery dies. The '25 may be under estimating, and the '23 may have been overestimating.
GOOD CATCH post #7

That said, I agree it's about algorithms between the model years and driver techniques still have an impact regardless of what we think about continuity of operation.

That smart hitch delete, is that talking about where you can steer a trailer easier with a knob on the dash and some decals you put on the trailer? If so, then that's another missprint because I have all that. I do not have the scales.

Did you perform a factory reset when you bought it? That resets your GOM back to factory specs so only battery temperature will impact the displayed GOM.

You guys trading n those early models for ‘25s. How are the trade deals? Did Ford compensate at all on trade in value or incentives?
No. I do not think I got a great deal, they knew I wanted a new one and held firm.

You don't get the range because it's a smaller battery. Taxman already explained that but I guess you missed it.

There are 3 battery sizes for these trucks, 98kWh, 123kWh, and 131kWh. 123 being the newest size.
I was never told that by the dealer or Ford.

I just assumed it was the same as my 2023.

Wow, this thread had so many incorrect statements until corrected...

OP never states his miles per kWh on old vs new, instead relying on the GOM without understanding that perhaps the algorithm in the 23 is not the same as the 25. Bet the miles per kWh is the same.

I cannot imagine buying anything this expensive without doing research and not knowing the Lightning was discontinued 4 months ago or that it had a heat pump. Wonder how much the OP was under water on the 23. Yikes!

If you bought the Lariat, as stated in post #7 ...... it still has the same 131 kWh HVB as your 2023

I do not get the range on the 25 as I did on the 23. That is a fact.
Until you get on the highway and drive as far as you can, you cant say this.

The number on the dash has FROM THE BEGINNING been PROVEN to be unreliable.

There is zero fundamental difference that would account for the range difference and we have never seen decreases in capacity from a small (unreported) battery error.

Stop thinking that number on the dash means something. There are HUNDREDS of threads here on how that number cannot be trusted.....HUNDREDS.
