@Ford Motor Company …This is great! Thank you all. How about letting us older trucks set the a/c charge rate from the vehicle so that when we are on vacation we can charge off of more than just 2 plug options.

Newbie here and I have a question why Ford implemented the on board power and the app. The app says I need to have the truck on to turn the on board power on. This is rather annoying as if I'm on a site where power is needed and it shuts off after idle, I would have to go back to the truck to turn it on. Why can't I just have a swipe function on the app to turn it on (via a button that can accidentally trigger the on board power)? This is annoying and frustrating when I have to stop what I'm doing and walk all the way to the truck to turn it back on. Or am I doing something wrong here?

The PPOB display in the app is a display only (so far), and until fairly recently it was not there at all. Yes, it would be nice to have control of it from the app. I know a little more, but can't talk about it.

Oh wow, that's new? I've only taken ownership in less than a month (already put 2000 miles on it!) so I'm getting to know the app and the truck. If you know more but can't share, that's understandable. As long as this community has someone helping us move forward with tweaks, it is very welcomed.

I also suspect why my app was acting up last week for a few days. It could be the update doing it's thing and take a few cycles for the app (and the watch) to sync up. It was driving me nuts, thought I broke something! LOL

Indeed much welcomed.....been asking for this since I bought the truck. Thanks so much!

BUT, I'm not seeing it yet! The truck is within wifi and is on a maintainer to ensure 12v battery is full. I verified that I do have 25.8.5 and I have power cycled (and used PPOB) the truck several times since June 22. How long before I see this? Is there a way to "force it"? What does it take? And, "silent updates" strange....why keep them "secret"? But THANKS (assuming I get it).

The fundamental problem is that Ford views the app as a gee whiz add on feature to be upsold, rather than a core extension of the vehicle's UI like modern buyers have come to expect. It is an afterthought.

Anyone else unable to lock/unlock, or set charge limit when charging, while at the same time using pro-power with the truck off?

Although I do my fair share of complaining here... The app is not one of the things I have a problem with. Other than maybe Tesla, I'm curious to know which companies Apps are better? I recently purchased a new BEV car and went shopping at so many brands including Toyota, Subaru, etc.. I checked out all their apps. We settled on Cadillac and the App has a fraction the features that the Ford App has... Every other manufacturer also charges for their app after the free trial period.

Don't get me wrong... I completely agree that controlling pro power, and getting our zone lighting back, plus many more is something I want... But... unless you know of other manufacturers (other than Tesla) that are so much better and free, I feel people need to cut Ford some slack in the App department. It's something that is constantly being worked on and I see small improvements all the time, so I am happy.

Now... If we are talking about the long list of gripes on the lightning software that's been ignored for years, I will be there with you, pitch fork in hand.

It can be enabled with Forscan if you can’t wait. We’ve found lots of features we can enable for 22-23’s that the 24+ have already. BlueCruise 1.4, trailer side view, 50/50 Split View, PPOB, Walk Away Lock. Some require module updates but sounds like you’re getting those. Ford has slowly been adding many of these OTA but with Forscan you don’t need to wait.

Haven't tried lock/unlock... but set a charge limit in the app is broken regardless of PPOB or vehicle power status for me. Has been for several months IIRC. In vehicle display works to set a one time charge limit. But, after charging has already started, the charge limit slider is missing from my app completely.

My '22 Lariat has the PPOB while vehicle off menu item now. Seems to function as described by others here. I would have loved a way to start up PPOB from the fob, over bluetooth where I have no mobile data (common out here), and over internet via app. But... Ford.

Received the update the other day on my early 2022 Lariat. Good to have as the truck is our backup generator for our house in Canada.

Using a Generac 60A box and switchover.

The Lightning with power off is the quietest possible generator!

My son has been using my 2022 since Friday evening to power his house, with a power restoration estimate that went from 11:30PM Sunday to 11:30PM Monday. He regrets not buying the 30amp cord because he has extension cords all over the house...

Gone from 83% to 66% in 34 hours.

My '23 Lariat ER received the PPOB update this week. I can confirm that the 12-volt systems will be powered by the traction battery DC-DC converter when the truck is off with PPOB on. Also, the Sync screen and the instrument cluster will be dark, the AC and seat heat/cooling and exterior lighting is off. The running lights were on but shut off after a minute or so. The dysfunctional auto off on minimum load did not appear with this update on my truck either.

The unlock feature from the Ford app can also be used with the bed green on/off switch to start PPOB. I did not check with PAAK.

I found that I can now charge tool batteries in the frunk with the lid closed. Previously, the 400 watt limit with the lid closed would trip the overload with any battery/charger I have.

Thank Ford for this update,

Steve

Power got restored about 36 hours after the outage, fully 1.5 days before their BS estimate.

They used 20% running 3 frig/freezers, sump pump, window fans, etc. Cord and adapter ordered for his generator port, which then would power everything but his central AC.
