The Lightning has had at least 15 NHTSA recalls since 2022 Including repair for HVB fire potential and roll away hazard.

I still have my 2nd choice vehicle. Should I desire another, it would most likely be the first used vehicle I'll have bought in over 20 years and would definitely be another Lightning unless something better comes along.

At this point, I'd only replace my F-150 Lightning with another F-150. That said, I bought mine and it's a 2024 model year, so I hope that I don't have to think about this for a while.

I kind of need 240v out, so that limits me to a Lightning, GM, or Cybertruck.

Wife has a Model Y and the phantom braking is really annoying, and can’t be disabled, so I’d have to see if that is fixed. I guess I’d look heavily at GM. Missing Android Auto would suck, but I have a 73 f100 and that barely has AM/FM radio….

Hopefully I won’t have to think about it for a few years, and by that time hopefully Rivian will update with 240v output, and hopefully Scout does well. I think I like Scout more, but I’d like it to be out for 2-3 years first. Ideally I won’t be shopping for a replacement until 2030-2035

Cybertruck. Because the tesla software works 100% of the time, (I know because I had a Model 3 and we currently have a Mosel Y), easier charging situations, I don't care about other people's opinion about how the CT looks or about Elon Musk's personality, I like it, its enough truck and truck enough for my needs and wants.
The Lightning is a great truck but I really like the Tesla tech.
Everything else is too small and I don't care for the new GM (Avalanche) offerings.
The CT is a radically different vehicle but I think thats what makes it cool.

I like your reasoning. Lack of an instrument cluster behind the steering wheel is a "simplification" that I can't get my head around.
I'm interested in Rivian and Hummer. The Rivian is likely more practical, but the Hummer is bold.

I bought my Lightning last September so the earliest I'll be shopping for a replacement would hit around July 2028. Also, it seems unlikely my Ouija board will be out of the repair shop before then, so I have no clue what I might buy.

That's a tough one.

If my Lightning had to be replaced today, I would not give a moment's consideration to buying another Lightning, either new or used, due to the dim prospects for repairing the vehicle in the far future.

EREVs are completely out of consideration. They are the worst of both worlds with dual maintenance, increased complexity, and range limitations.

In the pure EV world I would give serious consideration to the Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra EVs, and ultimately the CyberTruck would be back on the table.

Current PHEV offerings are poor with pretty much only being the RAM 1500 and Toyota Tundra, but I would conduct the CBA between the extra cost to step up to a Hybrid and the additional maintenance vs savings from increased efficiency.

I'd most likely be looking at a used ICE Ram 1500 or Chevy Silverado to fill my needs until someone comes out with a new Real Truck in EV.

It will be a long time before I consider a Ford product again.

I didn't think I'd like it either, but I bought a '21 Tesla Model Y and I absolutely love the single-screen solution they have come up with.

When the Rivian was introduced, that was my first choice. But, too small for me like a Tacoma.
