if I may ask, is your Rivian ok? :)
Haha, it is. It met the dealership again a little sooner than expected. A change of plans puts me further away from a service center than I am comfortable with and we got a 30 foot travel trailer that required us to stop every 1-1.5 hours and made life kind of miserable while towing.

It was a good SUV most of the time, just felt a little under cooked overall.

Hey everyone, I just recently installed the Comma 4 with Bluepilot 6.0 (non beta) in my 25 Lightning Lariat with the Bluepilot Lightning adapter, and everything was working fine. I manually selected the 23 Lighting from the menu as it could not auto-fingerprint. When it starts up now, it is throwing errors on the dash, and the comma says variant not detected on the comma. Any ideas? If I reboot it a few times, it starts working again, but then after restarting the truck, it's back to not working.

If it didn’t auto fingerprint, there is a bad connection somewhere. Try rotating the connections 360 and reseating them, make sure the lightning bolt is on the truck side.

So you’re thinking it should auto fingerprint? And you mean the lightning bolt back to the can bus correct?

Just realized you have a 25. It may not. But the rest is still consistent with a bad connection.

So, I swapped the lightning coupler, manually selected the truck again, and it now says "dashcam mode," unrecognized vehicle, so I am guessing there's a bad connection somewhere. Is there a way to determine if it's the coupler? I have the dock, so there should be a coupler on there, right?

I removed the coupler, and I only get the "service vehicle soon" and the wrench message. The comma works fine. So I am guessing the coupler is bad?

EDIT: Well, I feel like a bit of a silly man. By happenstance, I did some digging and discovered that the coupler needed to go on the side closer to the comma on the windshield, not on the CAN bus side. I moved the coupler, and viola, no errors, and startup was super fast.

It can go on either side, but if it’s working it’s working.

The comma supplied 12ft has weird connector tolerances that can make it finicky.

Does anyone know how to recalibrate the face detection? Currently, the comma believes I am looking straight at it rather than toward the road, and reminds me to pay attention when I am looking straight.

The only solid way I know do to this is to flatline the comma.. tap the screen while the loading screen is showing and factory reset/re flash bluepilot.

What version of openpilot are you running? The driver monitoring model was recently updated to be much more sensitive following a lawsuit against the company: https://unicourt.com/case/pc-db5-casegu14ab365a0c95-2364221

We are working to try and get the DM fix merged into bluepilot. It's not just a single file to copy, it's an entire submodule to update, and that submodule breaks other modules if they are not updated along with it.

So will the update be pushed out? Sorry I’m new to this comma thing.
