It also needs to be remembered that the battery thermal management is different depending on the output of the charger. We have seen yours bring the battery up to around 43f, but with my 48a the truck prioritizes heating more, bringing the battery immediately up to 60f.

Still, if the numbers can be trusted, Google indicates just over 5kwh to bring an ER pack from 20f to 60f. We'll, 5.5kwh, just in the temp change, not accounting for inefficiencies getting there.
This was from my FCSP at 80 amps. Outside temp was 24F and starting battery temps were 34F min/37f max. Coolant heater was pulling about half of the power from the FCSP for a bit over 20 minutes and warmed the battery to 53F min/60F max.

That is a very good point, you wouldn't think that 8A would make that much of a difference, but who knows what the logic was for these guys when they decided how it should work.
I mean, they can throttle / control the energy used by the PTC/heating element, so if you have a lesser charger just let it take more time if you're trying to allocate resources.

Suppose I have to locate some higher amp L2 chargers and do some tests.

Admittedly I didn't compare the various databases, just some quick research.

As the saying goes, if it works don't fix it.
I thought you were looking at options because you weren't satisfied, but if it works for you that's all that matters.

Unless of course we all decide to pool our data into a giant, common, database - now that would be pretty cool !

Actually the truck was left on. We have a secured facility; nobody messes with anything. I had the heated seats and steering wheel on so I could come do a warm up every now and again as it was pretty brutal outside. Plus I had the Pro Power on to charge a couple of power tool batteries.

So; if the truck is left turned on, it delays charging until the battery hits 68F?
Forgive my ignorance, I am still less than a month into my first ever Ford anything.


What are you using to capture this logging information and can it log charging data with the truck switched off?

When it is super cold, will the AC charging commence faster with the vehicle switched off?

It still takes a charge but at a slower pace, which more noticeable when DCFC charging.

I read through it. Apparently the pace with the 32A Ford charger was so slow it showed up as no progress at all. After an hour to 2 hours it would start to progress.

I'm a little confused about these. Is this a min/max current available for the LVB? Also, I don't see current voltage for LVB or the HVB, but I have those (I think from the PID list linked your other thread). I can double check that when I break for lunch.

I have no idea where @Firn got that from but those are not correct.

220582 is a coolant pump (A) duty cycle
22D118 is the motor current from the steering rack, frunk or tailgate servos (depending on which module your're requesting it from).

The current to/from the DC/DC converter is 224836 (12V / LV side) and 22483A (HV side), both should be 8-bit and 0.01 resolution, directly from the DCDC (746) module.

These are raw from using forscan to log and wireshark to monitor the message traffic. Gemini is then trying to reconstruct from the bits into the PID used and the equation.

These are of course raw from it and hence the need for validation
Don't trust the AI not to scramble your data! It will randomly change things and just make stuff up. I

I give it to CGPT then Gemini then back again and so on and have them check each other's work.


Eventually if you can get them to agree it is usually mostly correct. Sometimes. lol
