ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Yep
I can launch FDRS without any adapter, pull from the mothership, and get different values for the APIM than I get 2 minutes later if I repeat the whole process.

So it's definitely ONLY an FDRS related phenomenon since there's no influence from the truck itself or an adapter.

I haven't actually seen any impact that I've noticed. But who knows?

Weird. It also goes blank for awhile. I reload, then its back.
No more fdrs subscription tomorrow. Have to wait for something to happen I guess. Would be nice to get an ota eventually. ?

Also this happened just a bit ago. I had been needing to replace my battery, I suspected it was bad and sure enough it was. I actually got the message about it was safe to remove the USB that the update was complete. I've never seen that message before! I'm going to run through the rest of the updates and see if it goes smoother. If it does I guess my bad battery was holding me back. Stay tuned...

I was actually thinking the other day about bad/weak batteries and random issues people have. The biggest thing I'm wondering is if the MyView and other settings not saving are due to a bad battery. With the number of people posting about batteries getting replaced, it would make sense. I can also see Ford having logic saying not to start an update unless voltage is >X, similar to cell phones.

Your truck battery? Must be 12.5vdc or higher. This had me concerned too as I’ve never had an ota. I considered leaving a battery tender on a few nights. During the day it stays pretty good and never had a start prob. But when I put the charger on, its at 12.5 already. But you’d think 16hrs out of the day, it would be fine.
I’m old school. Batteries years ago were about 13.8 but didn't have all the gizmos these days.

Yes replaced the truck battery. I've ran with the recommended battery charger on it many many times. Who knows, running the TCU update right now, we'll see how it goes.

Holy shit, it was the freaking battery. I just updated the TCU, followed the prompts, walked away for 13 minutes, ignition on no engine and got the complete message on the first try. I've never had an update go that smoothly.

I'm sure if I pushed the issue the dealer would have replaced it, however they are horrible to deal with so I spent the change myself.

Anyone else that has been uptodate on all updates recently seen this new one?

My 2.3.0 OTA failed due to a bad battery. My truck sat from 3/21 to 10/21 because of the chip shortage and I'm thinking that was the cause of a bad battery due to no maintainer while sitting for so long.
