I''ve never come closr to using the full power of my 2024 Flash. Maybe I'd notice if I was towing my travel trailer up a long Rocky Mountain hill. But I doubt I would notice, as I have towed my trailer up such hills when I drove from the Pacific NorthWest to Arizona and back and never come close to using full power. My main use for this vehicle is to tow that trailer, although I have been using it frequently lately as I move to a different house.

As far as I'm concerned as of now, I remain delighted with my LIghtning, and I favor Ford modifying the software in favor of extending battery life.

I think MSN to News is what Disney is to Science.

Ps. Just punched the accelerator to the max of what a single pair of underwear can handle. Drives the same - stupid fast :)
Clearly you buy inferior underwear. 😄 I suggest you try a pair of Oops, I Crapped My Pants.

I knew it. I was one of the guys who reported the change in performance in the acceleration of my Lightning. There was no doubt that my acceleration was dogged down.

Some of you on this forum acted like I had lost my mind and said Ford wouldn't make such a change. You were wrong, I am right.

How do we joint the class action lawsuit. We have to send a message that they can't bait and switch us to a less capable truck. The least thing they should do is ask for the owners permission to make such a drastic change. Ford is obviously trying to wrap our trucks in bubble wrap until all their warranties are over. However, this is a classic case of bait and switch. I bought my truck because of its performance. Ford used the old Lightning name to draw new owners in because of the reputation it had gained because of the Lightning’s performance.

I didn't buy a 4 cylinder Toyota, I bought a Ford Lightning. I want my Lightning back. Ford slipped into my driveway in the middle of the night and swapped out my truck for something I didn't want. Shame on Ford. We can't allow Ford to get away with this.
Evidence?

Im almost certain that the MSN article came FROM our forum discussion here, not that it validates it.

Care to share which state you live in? We can do some OBD measurements to see how much power your truck is putting out (literally power...current, voltage, accelerstiin, etc).

Cite one piece of actual repeatable documented piece of data to prove your case. Just one. Any actual data. "My ass feels less pressure in the seat" is not data. If you want to get more than a casual laugh from an attorney, you'll need said data.
Here's your proof......
It's called: Class Action Lawsuit for Reduced Performance. It's in the documentation. Loooook it up yourself. There's your proof. Have a nice day loyal Ford guy...

I don't know if the allegation is true or false. My '22 Platinum felt somewhat slower when merging onto a highway after I had my 30K maintenance, which included a ton of dealer installed software updates. I'm really not sure because I don't push my truck hard (At 75 years of age I'm more interested in quiet and smooth, but 30 years ago, yeah, I'd have pushed it.). This was before I read the MSN article or heard about owner complaints.

My take is this: IF Ford is guilty I will join a class action lawsuit. But I sincerely hope the allegations are false.

If true I would rather see Ford restore the performance and add a software switch to allow the customer to choose between performance and battery life. That gives us the best of both worlds. Sort of what Chevy does with its "Wide Open Watts" option.

This feels really off to me.

If any location on the internet would be aware of a class action lawsuit against ford for updates to the lightning it would be this forum. The fact that NONE of MSNs sourcing for the lawsuit actually work is telling too.

Yes, we have talked performance reductions here but as of yet nobody has been able to verify it.

Frankly, this feels like MSNs AI run wild and randomly merging the forum discussion on the reduce performance, with the calls for a class action over the HIS, and some other CA.

Edit: there is some old discussion on the mach-e forum for a ca on reduced performance over the hv contactor issues.
That article is totally F'd. I've checked many of the links in the MSN article and it's really strange. It seems like an AI made up plausible sounding links/headlines.

Many of them point to the same missing "article" / broken link. Even though the link is broken, usually you can find the article by searching the site or Google but nothing similar comes up. The date in the link suggests whatever it is it was from February of '25

This second link is also broken and highly questionable --There haven't been 180k lightning sold so far even today much less by the end of last year --Ford Authority looks like it's just under 100k today. Yet the article described by the link suggests 180k lightning to be recalled back at the end of '24.

Again, it does not appear that this lawsuit actually exists.

It DOES, however, appear that you are susceptible to made-up AI-generated bullshit.

You just provided absolutely nothing. Zilch. I did look it up. It does not exist. There is no evidence of such a lawsuit. The cited MSN article about it is literally fake. And you nor anyone else has provided evidence of anything. So try again.

I am not a loyal ford guy. I am a loyal facts guy. I have no idea if Ford did or did not do what is being accused. And I don't think you do either unless you have some magical data that you're hiding from the public.
