2025 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash
Just got my 2025 Lightning 2 days ago (HYPE). This topic may have already been beaten to death so if someone has a previous post I can read linking it would be great.

With my Lightning purchase I got the Ford Power Promise. The dealer advised it could take any where from 2 weeks to 3 months to get my charger and installation completed. So I am curious if anyone has purchased a Lightning recently in 2025 what your wait time was for the arrival of your charger and installation?

Thank you in advance!
So just an update. I received the code in my email from ford last night. Went to the website and added one to my cart. Put the code in and it balanced it out to $0. Just a tip for anyone else doing this. The code won’t work if any other discounts are auto applied. You have to remove all discount codes then add in the one ford gave you.

I was under the impression Ford power promise pays for the standard installation of the charger.
I picked up my truck in Feb and had the FCSP (which was giving to me at time of purchase of the truck) installed in march a lil over 4 weeks later thru Qmerit who contracted out the job to so and so electric. Today i get an email from so and so electric with a bill for 1700.00... 250.00 for permit and 1600.00 and change for the install. am i missing something here.

If it’s a “standard installation” it shouldn’t cost you anything.

did they need to upgrade your panel or anything out of the norm?

They should have given you a quote before install. Sounds like you need to contact them.

Was your installation non-standard? This is what is considered standard (from here):
  • Installation must be completed at a residential property with a dedicated electrical meter.
  • Charging hardware must be attached to the same structure as the main electrical panel [e.g., if charger is to be installed in garage, then main panel must be in garage.]
  • Limited to 60A breaker and 50 feet of wire.

Standard install not more than 20ft from the breaker panel and on a double pole 60 amp breaker, something else i thought was weird , its been 3 and half months later and the building permit for my work done showed up on my front door with a letter to display in where it can be seen from the street. Same day i got the email with the bill.

What I did was install a 240 outlet right where I planned putting the charger. I ran the very expensive cable that's needed for the big charger right next to it. When the big charger came. I had the electrician disconnect the 240 circuit at the box and replace the breaker with the 100 Amp breaker, hook up the charger over the old 240 receptacle and connect heavy 100 amp circuit at the box. That way you only have to tear up the sheet rock once.

Dealer gave me a code to order the charger, it came in about a week later, I then called Qmerit and they setup the install with a local contractor to install it. Hope it doesn't take too long. I know I can use the other cable it came with on my dryer plug so there's no rush.

If you have the same dryer circuit as 95% of the rest of us do (14-30R or 10-30R on a 30 amp circuit), the Ford Mobile Charger will overload it.

Huh? I thought the mobile charger was specifically limited to 30amp, so it could be run off of the pro power outlet?

That's what I thought as well. Maybe he doesn't have the 9.6kW pro power onboard?

Are you confusing the pro charger with the 30a 110/240v cable they include with the truck?

No. A 30A EVSE cannot be safely used continuously on a 30A circuit.

Except the 30a 240v outlet in the bed of the truck. ?
